Default New Computer!!

My mom surprised me for my birthday with a budget for a new computer, since my kids have taken over my 6 year old laptop. I currently have a MacBook Air, with almost no memory on it, since I bought it before I started scrapbooking digitally. I'm considering getting a Mac again, since I'm in love with the intuitiveness of it, and the syncing to my phone.
So.... What computer do you have? What do you like about it? What do you wish you could get?

So exciting! I don’t own a Mac. I just bought another gaming laptop after my last one finally started to slow down (5+ years). I don’t game but they’re so great at handling adobe programs! I can have Ps, Lr, and InDesign all open at the same without any slowing down.

That's so nice of your mother! I have a Dell gaming laptop, so I won't be much help with a Mac. Do they make gaming models? I've never heard anyone mention them, but maybe they're not necessary since even lower end Macs are at a higher price point and quality than a low end pc.

How exciting for you! Give your mom a big hug!

I just set up another Dell Inspiron with Windows 10 on Tuesday after my nine-year old stopped working. I'm not excited. lol Lots of little annoying problems. I am excited about One Drive and the cloud service--no more backing up or worrying about a crash.
I'm sure you will enjoy whatever you decide to get. Just get lots of memory and RAM.

Thanks all! I ended up getting a an MacBook Pro in the smaller size (13"), with upgraded memory and hard drive speed. I went in and chatted with the guy at the Genius Bar, and he helped me to get the right speed and memory requirements! It comes on Tuesday!! I can't wait to work on it for this month's passport!

So exciting! Congrats! I missed this thread when you asked for advice. I have a MacBook Pro 15” and love it! I upgraded my EHD for Christmas which really sped things up here!

What a nice gift! How very sweet!

I'm a PC user at home. I go for gaming computers because, as Britanee says, they are great with Photoshop. They also fit within my budget where a Mac... not so much.

At work I use a Mac Mini (desktop) and a Lenovo laptop. I used to use a Macbook but they retired them because they were just so darn old, could not be updated any more, and therefore just weren't going to work with programs we had to have.

I LOVE the hand off feature with a Mac. I have an iPhone and an iPad and I can so easily use both with my Mac at work. It is one feature I will be sad to give up, but I have a feeling we will be moving to PC at some point in the near future at work. The middle school and high school area already all Windows based already.

Anyway, I'm no help if you have your heart set on a Mac. Until my budget improves, I will be using Windows at home.
