Tagging on Instagram
I created an account just for my scrapping purposes so if you have me as luan37, please delete me and add luan37s instead!
Back to my question, I'm trying to post more in Instagram. When I tag an artist, is it better to hashtag or @? For example a layout created with @sweetshoppedesigns or #sweetshoppedesigns?

If you use the @ sign the person/shop etc will get a direct notification similar to tagging someone on Facebook. If you use the # then anyone who searches that keyword will see it pop up. Kendall and I see it whether you tag SSD directly or use the hashtag because we are always looking so it's up to you which you want to do!

I will do both with sweetshoppedesigns but with the designers I will usually only use the #.

Now that you can follow hashtags, # probably means your layouts are seen by a lot more people than if you use @. Unless I have a specific reasons to use @--like a contest or CT call that requests it--I stick to hashtags. @ seems kind of intrusive. In gallery terms, I think of #designer like posting in their gallery and @designer like PMing them my layout.

I really like the hashtags for this. I think they're meant to be used exactly for stuff like that. It increases your reach by a mile.
