Your favorite, Kid-friendly cookie/treat for Christmas
We're going to be at my inlaws for Christmas. My MIL is having surgery right before we get there, so we're going to be just hanging at the house a lot with her while the menfolk go play, so I thought a few fun Christmas cookies would be in order.
I found Reindeer Cookies which we're going to try...but wondered if you had any others that were super fun for your kids to do? (we've done peanut butter kisses, and the one with the rolo in the pretzel, chocolate dipped pretzels) |

Oh Darcy I make those reindeer cookies and I do mine like one big round cookie for the head and then another smaller round cookie for the muzzle, where I put a red hot or M&M for the nose. I think they look a lot cuter then the triangles
I make a cute bear cookie recipe from one of my Quick Cookie magazines...let me see if I can find a recipe online for you!!!

Oh I found them!!!
Peanut Butter Teddies Quick Cooking These adorable teddies are almost too cute to eat but that won't stop the crew of youngsters who helped make them from gobbling them up.—Cynthia Kolberg, Syracuse, Indiana SERVINGS: 24 CATEGORY: Dessert METHOD: Baked TIME: Prep: 30 min. Bake: 20 min. Ingredients: * 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk * 1 cup Jif® Creamy Peanut Butter * 1 teaspoon vanilla extract * 1 egg * 2 cups all-purpose flour * 2 teaspoons baking soda * 1/2 teaspoon salt * 72 miniature semisweet chocolate chips (about 2 teaspoons) Directions: In a large mixing bowl, beat the milk, peanut butter, vanilla and egg until smooth. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; add to peanut butter mixture and mix well. For each pear, shape the dough into one 1-in. ball, one 3/4-in. ball, six 1/2-in. balls and one 1/4-in. ball. On an ungreased baking sheet, slightly flatten the 1-in. ball to form the body. Place the 3/4-in. ball above body for head. For limbs, place four 1/2-in. balls next to the body. For nose, place the 1/4-in. ball in the center of the heat. Add two chocolate chips for eyes and one chip for belly button. Bake at 350° for 6-8 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on baking sheets. Yield: 2 dozen.

cute! One thing we do every year is a twist on sugar cookies. After cutting them with fun cookie cutters, you brush a little milk on them and sprinkle jello powder all over them. They add a perfect amt of flavor to the cookies and look fun and colorful and kids LOVE to put the jello on!

My DDs and I made this yesterday (they are 4 and 2).
Place square pretzels on cookie sheet. Unwrap Kisses and place them on top of the pretzels. Bake for 3-5 minutes in oven set at 250. Squish an M&M on top of the soft chocolate. If you are in a hurry, pop them in the freezer to harden up. The perfect mix of sweet and salty.

Do you guys make cornflake wreaths? Super easy... it's like making rice krispies, except you throw some green dye into the melted marshmallow and use corn flakes instead of rice krispies. You make them into little wreaths and add some red hots for holly berries... we used to do this in school when I was wee.

K this is our holiday favorite and Lexi just helped me make these last night- although the kids might need help with the chocolate part depending on age. Lexi had a blast mixing the filling and spreading it on crackers. Our family calls these Hockey Pucks, I have no clue if thats the official name for it or not haha. No exact recipe...
Peanutbutter Marshmallow Creme Ritz Crackers Chocolate Coating (those melty disks work great!) Mix peanutbutter and marshmallow creme 1:1. (We use the smallest size peanut butter jar and a small jar of marshmallow creme, its about perfect for one box of Ritz crackers). Sandwich between 2 ritz crackers and cover in chocolate. Sooo yummy and easy! ~ Dani |
