Internet Radio
What do you use to listen to streaming music? Why? Is it paid or free?
I use Pandora when I listen, but I'm not thrilled with it and I'm looking for options. Thanks! |

My hubby would have my neck if I paid for radio... (He is a part time DJ for a local country station)... so I will listen to Pandora (the free part) when he isn't home... otherwise I will stream music from our local stations when I'm not near a radio - like outside sitting on the deck with my computer...

Spotify. It's a subscription, but you can listen to whatever you want, not just what Pandora thinks you want. And you can create playlists and even download those playlists to your smartphone for listening offline.

I stream I heart radio through my iPhone. None of the local stations are playing Christmas music. I needs my Christmas tunes! It is free!!

I use pandora. I'm okay with it since I don't really care if every single song is something I want, I just skip it. However, it would be nice to have specific playlists - I'm intrigued by spotify.

youtube when I want to hear a certain song and Pandora One (paid with no commercials) when I just want to hear random songs in a certain genre

Pandora on my computer or iheartradio on my iPhone for specific stations. I like not having to do my own playlists so Pandora works for me.

Spotify will also create radio stations for you based upon what you listen to, if you want to discover new music and don't want to create playlists.

Spotify on my computer. I have speakers that are good enough for me hear the music in my kitchen and living room (the rooms I'm in the most). It's free unless you upgrade and use it for your mobile phone (which I don't because I'm cheap). I love that it lets me make umpteen lists - I have a 70s list, 80s list, rock list, workout list, etc. etc.

Melissa, I didn't even realize that there were radio stations in iTunes. I'll have to go check it out!

We have Sirrius/XM in my car & I also had their internet radio option until recently. They had some package deal when I activated it for the car, but you can purchase it separately. We had to cut costs so I dropped it because I really don't listen all that often. I use Pandora now but I find it's choices annoying more often than not.

I mostly use TuneIn Radio, I have favorite stations and I listen to a lot of podcasts through there.

I think you can search for playlist of that artist. Once you find it, you can choose to save it in your favorites.

I'm pretty sure they have a free option for Spotify, as someone else pointed out. We opted for a paid subscription because of the off-line option for the smart phone and iPad. |
