Corey that is lovely, really lovely
We made one of those Kaiser Kraft trees last week, although we like it, it wasn't as much fun as making the baking tray calendar. Ours was made with traditional products but could easily have been decorated with digital products |

The company is Australian, yes. I have seen their stuff in 1 LSS, that isn't really local for me so I don't ever go there, lol.

The LSS that I go to has a bunch of Kaiser. I feel in love with their stuff the first time my friend from AU sent me some for my bday. I'll have to call the LSS and see if they have any trees. I'd love to get one!

Okay, so I'm going to try my hand at hybrid. I'm getting crazy. First Ali's project and now an advent calendar. And I'm so nervous and intimidated. You'd think with all my years as a paper scrapper I wouldn't be, but I am, lol.
So can I ask a couple really stupid questions? I checked the how to thread and didn't really see the answers there...sorry if they are repeats. So I love the look of the chipboard for the magnetic calendars. How do you cut chipboard? And can you punch chipboard? And where in the world to I find a crop-a-dile and how exactly do I use it? LOL. I checked out Hobby Lobby and Michael's this week and neither had one. TIA!! |

As for the chipboard, I think those are great questions (ones I don't have answers to) so I will start a new thread in this forum so that they can be answered and easily found! Good luck with hybrid, and have fun! It's addicting! lol |

I think the crop-a-dile question has already been answered. Basically it's a hole punch (and eyelet setter) which most craft shops should stock. The crop-a-dile cuts through really thick chipboard, CDs, metal...loads (As for round/square/shaped punches etc) I punched my chipboard for my calendar BUT I did not use very thick chipboard. If you're talking like a cereal box thickness (assuming they are the same in the US LOL!) I think most punches would cut through that. Just test carefully and see if your punch seems happy to cut through it...a little force might be needed but don't go crazy or you might ruin your punch. Otherwise I would just measure and cut using scissors or a craft knife. Hope that helps Let us know if you have anything more you want to ask about I have tried to attach a pic of a crop-a-dile. You just squeeze the handles together Last edited by Anso; 11-21-2008 at 12:21 PM. |

What the muffin tin advent calendar?
We'll see if I can get my act together enough to make one first. If I do, I'll send it to you for your future step-son

Stampin' Up! also do a cropodile, I think theirs has black handles. Not sure if you have a demonstrator near to where you live.
I find that cutting through lots of thick chipboard makes my lovely craft knife blades get blunt very quicky so I use one of those retractable knives where the blades snap off into pieces, bought from the DIY store. |

I have a question, I bought the karen foster countdown calendar and I want to make my items stand out more, kinda hybrid type,
do you just make the shadows bigger to make them look like they are raised, I looked for numbers to add after I print my paper but I couldn't find any I liked, what would be the easiest way to do this without printing the numbers on the paper that is going on the drawers? This is my first hybrid project, I am kinda lost. Rachel |
