Convince Me (or not)
Thinking about picking up this kit while it’s on sale and it’s been on my wishlist too.
Bit of background - I have a degree in disability studies and have done some work in the sector so while it’s not 100% special education there is a lot of crossover. I can see that I would be able to use some of it - mostly the word art, how have others stretched the use of this kit beyond the obvious special education or kids angle (I don’t have any kids)?

Hello,
I’m sorry I’m on my phone but I want to share with you a layout I did with this kit for my son. I will put you the picture when I’m on my Pc. Edit: Here's the layout. He’s not autist, he has few special need and always looks different from the other little boy. Actually we still search for a diagnostisis, it seems to be dyspraxia and dysgraphia put I think there is something else. I think this kit is great because you can use it easily without the obvious special need education. I hope I can help you. You did such an amazing work! I’m glad there’s some great people like you for helping our children. If you buy it, please show me your layout! Last edited by Scrap-therapy; 02-20-2020 at 05:32 PM. |

The bright colors and all the flowers, stars, butterfly etc... make it perfect to scrap any kind of 'happy' layout as well.

I'll admit that I've gone back and forth on this kit since it was released. The theme is perfect for me, since DS has Smith-Magenis Syndrome (autism, ADHD, sleep disorder, speech disorder, motor planning disorder, dysgraphia, and some more!) I probably wouldn't use it for special ed layouts, per se--I don't really scrap his IEP meetings, and I scrap his school experience the same way I do my other 2 kids, not focused on special ed. I'd use if for pictures of a conference related to his genetic disorder or maybe scrapping the national awareness day for SMS.
That said, the "feel" of the kit keeps holding me back; it feels too juvenile to scrap a 13 year old boy with. I hadn't looked through Featured Designer stuff yet, but maybe I'll have to go check it out again now that I know it's on sale.

I think if you like the kit and it's on sale then why not let it jump into your cart?! I purchased one the other day because I liked it.......it was a camping kit........I don't camp, lol. However, with the colours, papers and other elements I know I can make it work for nature, outdoor pages at the least as well as mix it with another kit.
You could use it in a photoless page describing what you do, some jobs you have had and with the colours just use it for a happy page.
