Default Did you ever feel like just quitting?

Just a whiny rant coming up...no need to reply, I am just so frustrated

I miss scrapping. I have tried for days to make a page, any page, and I got nothing. I downloaded the cookie template, got half done, realized it sucked, then deleted it.

I was working myself into the ground for over a month (I do cards/graphics), and didn't have time to scrap at all. I barely had time to shop LOL. I don't know if I'm burned out from all that time on the computer or what, but my mojo isn't just gone, it's non existant.

Sigh. I am done most all of my Christmas stuff, so I really don't have a lot to do and I want to scrap dang it!

Burn out kicks in and it really saps you. I say take a step back and breathe. Don't think about it for a while. I find one of the worse things sometimes is thinking and thinking about how something isn't working, or how nothing is working. Get your mind on to other things, and the mojo will find you.

Don't delete layouts, just walk away and come back with a fresh outlook some other day.

I sooooooooooooo know what you mean. I'm just coming off of a long burn-out spell myself. It sucks. I definitely recommend just taking a break from it all. It may feel like you'll never scrap again, but I promise it'll come back to you!

here's a note from me ... i'm in the middle of a "break" right now.. thats why i haven't been around much for the last couple of weeks, if at all. I really dislike this time of year but I won't get into that lol. I still come by to see whats new and stuff but I just can not scrap anything. I've tried too and I decided it was time for a break So thats what you should do is just take a break, dont put so much pressure on yourself to put a page together cuz in the end you wont like it and end up just trashing it. When its time for your break to be over, you'll know it good luck hun and
happy holidays everyone i miss yas

I agree with Lauren that taking a break is often the most helpful, but if you REALLY want to scrap, what about finding a kit that really inspires you. Maybe you have one in your stash or maybe you should buy a new one. Sometimes a new kit paired with a great template really gets me going. Scrapping, I mean.

oh yes...and I did.

For about 4 months.

It was hard to come back....I was so behind on who's who and who's where.

It took a while to get my mojo back when I did come back but i am inlove with my LOs since I did.

I wouldn't go 4 months again though. that was waaaaaaaaaaaay too long.

That is what happened to me with my paper scrapping. I took a LONG 8 month break and when I was ready to come back it just wans't the same. Hence the switch to digital! Maybe you just need something new....Something out of your ordinary to snap you out of it! (just don't take an 8 month break)

I'm sorry Jaime :/ Maybe a break over the long holiday weekend will keep you busy and get your mind off scrappin. Just hang out with your family, snap some pics, and enjoy the time you have to spend iwth them. Who knows, you might just snap an amazing photo and a LO will just jump out at you!

Thanks guys, I think I just got so annoyed because now I have the time, and I just want to run away from my computer because I'm sick of looking at it. I'm going to go make some treat bags and come back, maybe a little retail therapy is in order LOL

Yup a break is entirely in order. Since SUAS, I have been on a pretty long break from my personal scrapping.
Feel bad, want to post great layouts with my awesome SSD stuff. But needing the time to regroup and find my rhythm again.
Take a break and don't stress.
Shopping is the best panacea.

I soooooooo now what you mean I really hope that you find your scrappin mojo again...maybe a little break over Christmas will do the trick

And I don't know whether this helps but when I get stuck in a rut I just focus on stuff off the computer...like getting a journal started (I use all the journalling on layouts later), pictures out of mags that get me inspired. As much as I love my computer I think getting back to the basics really helps.

Enjoy Christmas and I'm sure we'll see you back scrappin like a mad woman after wards...

You are so not alone! I thought I was the only one. Working 50+ hours a week is taking its toll and I just want to stay home and scrap. When I do get home I have no energy left to create and feel it deeply. Creating is my outlet and when I don't/can't it really bugs me. I'm hoping that once we're caught up with our end of the year stuff and the holidays are over I will get back what I'm so desperately missing. I hope you get it back, too

I took a break for most of October & November, even quit my CTs because I had no creativity in me at all.

I did get a couple layouts done in that time. I did them after I had gone though cleaning out, backing up & reorganizing my stash. Just getting a new look at all the stuff I'd forgot I had gave me a bit of a spark. Mostly though I just read a great many books & felt refreshed when I came back

I'm the exact same boat you are and have been for the last 3 weeks. Even doing my CT stuff has been a stretch lately, and I only h ave 1 regular CT. The rest are really sporadic. I've been keepign up with my regualr boards, attending chats, and buying kits thinking that will be the one to get me back on track, but nope. I HAVE to get cards for DS to hand out to his class tomorrow done today. So far I've done 4 versions and scrapped them all. It's still better than going to Walmart and trying to buy them this close to the holiday.

Sending hugs to you Jamie! That can be soo frustrating! Don't quit completely, girl! You have a pretty gallery! Take a break, go shopping for something you like other than digi-goodies. Then maybe you will be energized for some scrapping after the holidays.

Ducky, it's good to see ya! You don't stay away too long either!

I haven't scrapped a page in atleast 4 months. I have tried but everytime I start a page I toss it because it sucks. I have even tried to surf the galleries and I just can't get the MOJO to do a layout. It's really frustrating because my little guy is 2 months old and I haven't scrapped a page of him yet.

My mojo is gone from being a mom and wife lately. DH has been taking 2 classes a semester since last year and since I am a SAHM I feel like the walls are caving in. I am taking a 3-day break with our church weekend to go have some fun and it couldn't come at a better time. Sometimes a break in the routine will rejuvenate you! I can already feel life coming back into me with the trip just a day away!!!!!!!!

Hang in there and I hope you get back into the swing of things soon!

Hang in there! And as everyone else said, take a break. Maybe pick up a new craft or an entirely different hobby? It may inspire you in a way you never thought of! Breaks are good...time to rejouvenate that mojo!

I swear I think its an end of the year thing, with so many things going on at the end Thanksgiving, Christmas & New Years that alone takes up alot of my brain cells and then to get my butt in front of the laptop and create I'm having to look through magazines for inspiration b/c sometimes one just doesn't cut it. and then I just step back and do nothing, It'll come back don't worry just relax and step back.

You guys are so great! I've scrapped since about June, so losing my mojo when I'm not even pleased with the pages I do yet anyway, seems stupid LOL!

I think I'll go shop.....DH says "don't you have enough of that stuff you don't use already?" I think he knows me too well.

So if anyone wants to enable me....please do!

Well, Lauren & Zoe's Push Pops is one of my favorite kits right now; I've used it 3 times already. The only kits I've ever used more are Old School by Dani & All Organic by Kay Miller; I recommend those, too.

I also have to recommend Teresa's Smarties ; she has a great sense of design. Or did you grab up some 2Sisters templates when they had them for $1? If you're like me, those are practicaly untouched, lol, and would be like a new purchase. Challenging, but in a structured sort of way.

Those are just some ideas. Good luck finding it. And, btw, I like your pages!

Thanks Kellie, I think I actually have a bunch of Smarties templates. Maybe I'll try that!
