How long does it take you to scrap a layout?
How long does it usually take you to scrap a layout? I'm a lot quicker than I used to be just because I'm not as self conscience as I was when I first started...So now I'm doing more than 1 layout a week
FYI...I already know it takes Shannon 5 minutes to whip out a fab layout just kidding Shannon just how long does it take you 7 minutes...

I can easily spend 3-4 hours on a LO. Part of it is my dysfunction that I can't just use things "as is" and feel compelled to alter them somehow.
And I seldom have a "vision" of how a page is supposed to look before I start. I might have a vibe or impression that I want it to share, but I don't necessarily know how I'm going to get from point A to point B. |

It depends on the layout for me. I've completed some in 20 minutes. Others have taken me days. If I really like the page I'm working on, I average about 3 hours.

My average is around 40-90 minutes, but then Im not one known to mix and match things

It varies for me too...sometimes I surprise myself and get something done in 20 minutes but in most cases its a couple of hours. I think my world record would have to be around 10 minutes...the stars must have been aligned for that layout because it hasn't happened since lol!

Most of the time it takes me less than two hours to finish a LO. Sometimes when I want to mix and match elements from my stash then it takes longer...

Usually 2-4 hours. I am so OCD about where I place stuff that I can add and take off the same thing like 300 times. LOL

I used to be horrible 4-6 hours for one. But I'm a lot faster now, my last one took me an hour. I was very anal about everything matching and everything lining up perfectly, but I knew I had to get out of that if I ever wanted to get anything done.
So generally it takes me from 30 min to 2 hours, depending on if it's multi photo (that I REALLY struggle with).

I'm a little impatient, if I can't finish a layout in an hour (and be really happy with it) I usually abandon it.

Usually about 5-10 minutes, but some take longer if they're not sitting right. The last one I did took about 40 minutes and I was about to just close it and give up.

Seems like the longer it takes me to do a LO the less I like it and the more frustrated I get with it. I like it when things are "in the zone" and flowing, so usually no more than an hour, most of the time right around 30 minutes. Depends on if I am chatting at the same time, etc. But really, 30 minutes is about the point where I know if the LO is worth keeping or not.

I'd give my right arm to be able to scrap a page in 30 minutes, lol.
I average between 1 hour, and 4. But I'm usually doing 7 other things at the same time, lol.

Templates speed up the process for me tremendously as I hate having to decide where things go.
If I'm using a template, likely an hour. If I'm scrapping 'from scratch,' it would be close to 2 hours. I don't have the patience to work on a layout for more than a couple hours, and I never come back to a page and finish it up later unless it's a CT kit that I have to use. This might change when I have babies and stuff to tend to, I suppose. |

I can do one in about an hour... but that never happens b/c usually I am chatting away or have a baby yelling maaaammaaaaaaaa in my ear, so maybe about 2 hours... but I am only guesstimating.

If I take more than one day to finish a layout, chances are I'll hate it!!! Typically I'll finish a layout in one - three hours. Longer than that and my ADD sets in and I can't focus!!

I would say usually less than an hour... rarely more than 2 hours. If I don't get it done in naptime, something's wrong.
But then, I always do 2 pagers and the 2nd page only takes like 10 minutes. So that makes my average even shorter! |

I usualy take anywhere between 30 minutes and 2 hours. It depends on how much time I have to sit through and what I am going for. Sometimes I am just unsure about a layout and I wll get up and do something and come back in a couple hours to see if I love it.

I'm in the 2-4 hour ocd category. Normally I start scrapping around 9 or 10ish when my house is quiet and don't really post it until I am ready to go to bed. But, everytime my computer takes more than 3 seconds to do something I abandon ship and start checking all the boards and writing emails. And I'm normally done in an hour and a half but spend the rest of the night switching around minute details. If I didn't eventually need to go to bed I would probably fuss even longer. This is why I post when I go to bed - so I don't wake up the next day and start modifying!!

Somewhere between a half hour and an hour. If I'm still working on it after an hour, I usually trash it.

I am almost ashamed to tell how long it takes me. I usually can only get 1 page out a day! But to my defence I have 2 kidddos I am taking care of. If I could teach them to feed themselves and entertain themselves then I might could get more than one page.
I also spend to much time nitpicking my layouts! I think everything has to be perfect and so I stress and stress and stress and ....... over it! But for the most part since I do so much stressing over it I am usually very satisfied with theLO when it is done. Occasionally I will just spit one out and really hate it but be to lazy to care!

I'm getting faster, because I'm learning that if I focus and don't chat or check the boards I get things to come together quicker. I average 30-60 min if I focus and 2-3 hrs if I don't.

I wouldn't know - seeing as how I don't think I've ever been able to work on one without interuptions LOL I'd guess anywhere from 1-2 hours. I can usually do 1 per evening when I'm in a groove.

I'm faster than I use to be, but still spend about 2-4 hours on one. Nothing I scrap ends up the way I envisioned it. I do lots of moving things around, resizing and changing my mind. If I use a template I can finish in 1-2 hr, but lately my LOs are for CTs so I try not to use templates.

sometimes around 20-30 minutes. Sometimes an hour or two. Sometimes i leave it and come back the next day. It depends on how much inspiration i had when i started, lol. Sometimes the mojo needs a recharge!

It depends if I know what I want to do when I start or not. I guess as little as 15 minutes, but it could take me all day sometimes.

I would say on average probably at least 4 hours, sometimes more, sometimes less. Part of the problem I know is my computer does not play nicely with Photoshop at all. I'm constantly having to wait for it to do something so I tend to get distracted by something else. It seriously took 15 minutes just to open one of my layouts this morning. That's why I like to do everything in one sitting.

It can take me as little as a half hour (like when I did the speed template challenge here last Saturday) or I can spend a couple of days here and there working on a LO. Most often it takes me 1 1/2 to 2 hours on a LO.

I'm tons quicker than I used to be. I think I average about 1-2 hours for a layout. But that's if I know where I'm going with it. If I'm clueless, I can be going on and off all day and still not finish by evening. One of my problems is choosing which papers to use. I usually try out every page in the kit for a background, and then go back and forth about 5 times between my two faves. Then when I finally choose one, it means I have to go back and recoordinate all my other papers.

I average about 1 to 2 hours per layout. It all depends on whether I'm using a template or starting from scratch. I'm a lot faster with digi than I was with paper, but I'm OCD and move things around a lot. I also, like to mix and match things from different kits and try out different looks so those pages take 2 hours. Sometimes, though I get lucky and can whip out a layout in 20 minutes. I need more of those 20-minute layouts to come along.

Holy monkies. I average probably about 4 hours or longer. My computer and PS do not get along and that's part of the problem. That, and I'm always tending to bugaboo.
I'm getting a new computer (hopefully it arrives tomorrow-woot!) so I'm hoping that will help with my speed. |
