WLPG Question?

Hi everyone,

I have spent an enormous amount of time tagging my kits in Windows Live Photo Gallery because I have read that the tags are written into the metadata of the file so the info is stored with the picture, so you don't have to worry about backing up a database.

Well this weekend I figured out that the tags only get written into the metadata on jpeg files not png files . So anyway has anyone else noticed this and do you know how to back up the WLPG database because I guess that is what you have to do to save the tags on the png files.

I have no idea, because I don't use the WLPG for scrapping. My dad does use it, but only for tagging photos.

I use ACDSee but because of the sheer amount of stuff I've hoarded, I have never gotten around to tagging any of it.

I hope you figure something out with it! Hopefully someone who knows will come along and help!

Yeah I used to use Acdsee also but it kept crashing all the time and I thought WLPG sounded like a good program to tag digi kits in since I didn't think you had to worry about backing up a database.

Hummie has some videos on how to tag in WLPG which are very helpful.
