Default Moms and Preggers - help!

Hi girls, I need help!
We decided to buy all the baby's stuff just when we arriving from our moving because:
1 - All the baby stuff I can find here at this point (it's Spring here and it's HOT already) are lightweight cotton short/sleeveless onesies.
2 - it will be way easier and way less mess for us - we already have TONS of luggage to bring - we don't need another suitcase filled with stuff the baby will not use for MONTHS.
But I don't know what to buy for a baby born in March 20th. I'm guessing the weather will starting to warm up but we'll have lots of days of cold weather.
Plus I will have to buy my baby's stuff in December which is CRAZY by itself. If I could have a list to guide me in what I really need to buy it would be awesome. But I'm clueless.
Could you help me?? Thanks a lot!
xoxo

Aren't you in Brazil? Where will you be moving to, it sounds like the northern hemisphere....

March 20 is my mother's birthday!

I had a baby born in mid april this year and we were still wearing winter clothes here in NY. I'd buy a bunch of heavier blankets and a bundle me for a baby due in march.

definitely an infant snowsuit. you'll need it where you're heading. gets cold up here (: you're still heading to the toronto area, right? it's generally still pretty cold in march. we get snow through april. just a warning. i'm in buffalo, ny. and our weather is the same as the weather in the general area.

and you'll need lots of warm blankets, and warm pajamas. newborns are generally bundled up anyway. maybe one of those fleece blanket cover things for the carseat/carrier?

Here's a thread I started a while back asking about baby stuff in general (not clothes-specific), but it might be helpful.

As for clothes, where are you moving to? My baby will be born early Feb probably, so we're looking at lots of winter stuff for the first couple of months. Here locally, we have a big consignment event twice a year... the spring clothing event will be in March. So, for now, I bought lots of newborn sizes (cause my last baby was tiny at full-term, and they're thinking this one might be, too) as well as 0-3 month. I bought things like sleepers & gowns mostly, very few onesies. I bought just a couple of "cute" outfits. I figure those first couple of months, IF we go out, I'll want to dress her as warmly as possible. So, I'll load up on bigger sizes and spring outfits after she's born.

We still used winter newborn clothes for my baby born in Alberta in early May (it snowed the day after he was born), so I think it is safe to assume that you will use winter clothes for a little while in Ontario as well. We used a lot of onesies, long-sleeved pjs and swaddle blankets and don't know what I would have done without them.

I don't guess I'm much help, even though I'm due only a few days later. lol
Most of the baby stuff I will be buying will be spring/early summer stuff - maybe just a few long sleeve/long pants things thrown in.

Thanks girls! Your tips are gold worth to me!!
Totally forgot to mention our moving date will be on November 21st - MY Birthday - to Toronto/CA.
You girls have me looking frantically on Google what are all that stuff I never heard before
I didn't know what a 'bundle me' is, and now I love it, b/c I think with one of these, you don't need to be annoying the probably sleeping baby (let's pray hahaha) to put on/off jacket/hood/etc. to go outside, right? I'll be buying one.
Libby, I'll be looking that thread you mentioned, thank you.
My DD was B I G when she was born, I didn't use ANY of the newborn size clothing I bought to her. I guess I'll start with 0-3 months sizing this time.
xoxo

I'm not buying a darn thing until after our showers, with the exception of some Penn State gear this weekend. Jordan wants the baby to come home in a Penn State outfit, and since we're Team Green I'm pretty much ok with that. It'll be cold so I'm thinking of getting the Nittany Lion halloween costume too We're total dorks, lol.

But yea, if you're moving somewhere cold like Ontario, you'll definitely need some longer/warmer stuff. Hopefully you can catch some Christmas sales on winter gear?
