Default HOLY SNIKEY!

My daughter's school sent home 207 students from vomiting today. 207. There are less than 800 kids in the school, that's more than 1/4 of the school,

Look away if you're easily queasy but one of the girls we know told her mom that there was vomit all over the hallways, the janitors couldn't get to it quickly enough.

I'm so scared that my daughter will get it. SO scared. :-(

My goodness, that is awful. Is it the flu or food poisoning? I hope your daughter remains healthy!

Ugh! There is some BAD vomit bug going around this season. Most people I know have had it. We gave it to our whole family over Thanksgiving. It was a quick one. I had it the worst because I'm nursing, but even then it was only really a 24 hour bug. Hopefully it passes as quickly for all of those kids! It was sure miserable!

I was going to say that sounds like it may be some kind of food poisoning. Goodness gracious!

Oh my goodness!!! That's horrible! We aren't getting the vomiting (knock on wood!), but we have had a serious bout of high fevers for 3-5 days at a time. So weird! I had FIVE kids out for days in a row!!

We haven't had any vomiting either, but this was both my girls just last week! I was starting to get worried, but they seem to be over it.

I am so thankful that it has been f-o-e-v-e since we've had that kind of sickness in my home. I cannot stand vomiting and/or cleaning it...uck! There's nothing worse. I usually end up sick just from dealing with it.

When I taught school there was a nasty stomach virus that went around the school. One day I saw several students suddenly run into the bathroom (which was right down from my classroom) and start throwing up....not all at once, just throughout the day. It was the weirdest thing to ever witness. Of course, by the end of the day it was me. I was teaching an afterschool class and got sick right in the middle of that. Thankfully, I had a bathroom right inside my room. I had to get one of the students to get the principal so I could leave early and I was out sick for the next three days.

Bad memories!!

I hope your daughter doesn't get sick and that it's over quickly for everyone! That's a lot of students to send home in one day!!!

Oh, Alisa! That's really scary. I hope she's alright and your house stays clean.

We had that horrible bug this year right before my son's 1st birthday. We all got it, except for him. I shudder just thinking about that and I hope it stays away from your house!

My middle child spent his first birthday and two days after in the hospital because of a stomach virus. The baby is so young. I'm all freaked out.

WOW! So, were 207 seriously puking or did they send home the whole classes because so many kids were puking in them? Wow wow wow. I would be freaked out that either A: the janitors at the school do not do a good cleaning job or B: the cafeteria staff are serving bad food.

I really hope you all stay healthy!!!

that is really bad!! When my daughter was in school in pre-k almost her whole class got chicken pox at one time. Literally the teacher had like three or four kids for about a week. But Ive never heard of that many kids being out except when the route was blocked by heavy smoke from a wild fire. I would be wondering if it was food related too

ETA:Here the teachers preach about washing hands and every class has antibacterial gel the kids use everytime they go to lunch and after using the bathrooms

Cheyanne's school had a massive outbreak of stomach flu a couple weeks ago; seems to be over now though. For about a week she said up to 5 kids in each classroom were going home because of vomiting/severe nausea. It was a quick bug- 24 hours or less even with no fevers, just vomiting. She escaped it thank goodness!

oh my gosh - they should have shut down the school and air it out!!! I hope your kiddos keep healthy... the stomach thing has been through our house this season already - hubby got hit with the worst of it a week ago. It was a fast mover, only lasted 24 hours...

We have a stomach bug running through our elementary schools (4 of them)!!! Each school has about 300 kids each and this last week on any given day there has been 100 to 150 students absent from each school!!! My youngest DD has had it the last 2 days...she started it off with a puking session of spaghetti from her top bunk!!!

However what you are describing sounds like maybe food poisoning to me, it is strange that that many kids would just start puking in school!!!

I hope you and your family are spared.....I hate when my kids get the pukes......it about kills me to see them dry heave!!! Breaks my heart!!!!
