Default Why do I even bother trying new designers

Outside SSD?

Seriously? I just end up wasting my money. I bought some new stuff yesterday since there were so many sales, beautiful stuff and then I unzip and start playing and I'm like, why did I buy this.

Remind me next year that all I need is SSD stuff. LOL!

I've thought the same.

I only buy from ssd and lilypad.

I do the same with CT's now, after a recent incedent

I completely understand what you are saying..

I did that on DSD and was really disappointed with what I got. Lesson learnt!

I love SSD stuff!!! I got a few things from other places and the only thing that frustrated me was that one place had BOGO collabs. I bought 4 thinking 2 would be free. But as I was checking out, it didn't have two of them free. I asked a question on the forum but it was getting so close to the sale being over that I went ahead and bought all 4 thinking if something was wrong, they would reimburse me. Well....I found out today that that sale was only for the collabs that were exclusively done by designers of that site, not collabs with other designers which narrowed the collabs down ALOT. I didn't see that disclaimer anywhere on the offer. Oh well...I love the kits and probably would have bought them anyway so I'm not really complaining too much. :-)

I'm the same way. I only bought 2 kits yesterday and thankfully only spent $2 bucks. I just unzipped them and although they are great quality....I'm like "I don't think I'll ever scrap with these!!!"

Oh well.......someday I'll learn!!!

I love SSD, but I have a couple faves out there too and I totally took advantage of their dollar deals, lol. But I do scrap with and use SSD stuff 99% of the time, so I shouldn't shop elsewhere.

I bought only one kit outside of SSD and it's fantasy style. I've been wanting to try that style.

I only shop here and at elemental scraps and even though I probably shouldnt have I did spend a little over there. They started their sale a little early so I kinda wish I had saved a little for here too. I figure there is always DSD though for here and I bought so much over there PLUS got so many ffreebies that were really beautiful so I am set for at least another two or three months before Id even need another thing

I have my fave designers, and I rarely ever buy anything from anyone else. I'm just too disapointed if I do. :-( If I'm interested in a new-to-me designer, I first look for some freebies from them to test the quality. Or I'll buy a digi-mag that includes a kit from them so if I don't like the kit, I still have the digi-mag to console myself over the purchase... lol.

I hate when I'm disappointed with a purchase, its not like you can return it for a refund.

I spent the most money here yesterday, I also bought TDD grab bag and an alpha and stitches from Gina Miller. I seriously did not need another alpha or stiches but hey they were on sale. LOL

I like to think I can make these fancy LOs, so I buy the stuff LOL. I shop here, TLP, A5D and SPD. I don't usually even go anywhere else, unless I'm looking for something specific.

I'm getting much better about that. Some stuff is gorgeous, but I just don't know what to do with it. I stick to here and 2 other places. But really everything I want and actually USE is here.

I am already having buyers remorse for most everything that isn't SSD stuff. There are some things that I know I'll use, but to justify spending what I did. I do it every year though, even when I promise myself I'm not going to!

SSD fits my style the best, so they go most of my money! I picked up a few $1 kits at SPD, that I probably will never use, and a few essential things from TLP. I was browsing a lot of stores, but didn't pick up too much.

More and more, I'm shopping at a few stores and not even bothering to look at the others. I spent more than half my NSD budget here, but I also bought a few things at Elemental Scraps and from Flergs.

I browsed a lot of stores but nothing really stood out to me. So, I only bought from here and one kit and some templates from Tab & Lena (BellaGypsy) over at ES. I happy with everything I got!

I spend most of my money here too but I have a select few outside designers that I really like too and did buy from them this weekend as well. Now if I could only get them all here it would be awesome!

I mostly only ever buy here. The only things I might buy somewhere else are specific templates or alphas that don't have a similar version available here.

The only thing I spent this weekend was time - reorganizing my current stash!

Since I love different styles of scrapping, I did spend a little money (SPD, TDD-sooooooo worth it!, and A5D). I would have shopped here too, but I just spent a bucketload (something like 8 or 9 kits!)here this month after getting my SSD rewards and haven't even touched those kits!

My main problem is that I get so involved with doing my CT stuff or challenge stuff, that all my new purchases don't get used. My new stuff folder is busting at the seams and I am getting dizzy just thinking about cataloging it in ACDSee!!!

And for those that bought stuff that they don't think they will use, was it super cheap? Can you just use the papers and get rid of the rest? Scraplift a CT member of that designer then get rid of it? Surely it can be used and then you won't feel so bad! And just know next time to hold back!

I used INCREDIBLE self restraint this weekend. I'm honestly impressed with myself. I bought a few things from new people, but they were only $6 total, so I don't feel bad for myself, lol. Other than that I bought from 1 store with a designer I love lately. So far, not a single regret

Having said that though, I still should just stick to SSD, LOL!

SSD gets most of my dough lol...but over the years I have my fave set of designers that I always buy from so I shop from them...I did buy a couple of kits from new designers this year but by the time I get done with CT stuff, challenges here, new SSD goodies, I hardly get time for "outside" stuff lol. I could scrap from now to next Christmas with my "to scrap folder and probably never use the same thing twice! lol I did manage to keep to a budget yesterday and except for here I only shopped dollar sales or at least 40% off, so I feel like I got my money's worth lol.

Ooh! I agree totally Crystal... Except... um... for each of these few stores, I normally drop about a few hundred dollars.

I did my most damage here.....but there were a couple kits from Kay Miller I really wanted and she had a sale.......and there are a few designers I really like especially Flergs so I visited SO, SPD, TLP, SBG and A5D and that was it. I only bought a few extra things besides what I bought here but like everyone else, I usually only scrap with SSD stuff anymore!!!

I tend to shop at many shops, but I buy element packs more than kits. I tend to buy the vast majority of my kits here. For NSD, I shopped at SBG (Flergs and Ellie Lash...), Scrap Matters, ScrapArtist, Digi Chick, Scrap Orchard and here. I didn't spend too much here, though, because Sweet Rewards are coming and I have 40 % off...

I stay away from anything to fantasy-ish, even if those kits are often gorgeous, because I just can't seem to do something good with those. Not my style at all.

I think the digiscrap market has become much harder to crack into because of this attitude - but honestly, I share it. I don't only shop at SSD but it is the only store I check week to week and it gets 95% of my scrapping dollars! On big sale days I check out other well known, established designers at some of the other stores I like - LDD, SA, sometimes TLP. And there are couple designers that are favorites of mine - Amanda Heimann for example, or Karah Fredericks, so I seek them out specifically at their stores.

For someone new trying to break into designing, it's got to be tough - we all have our faves and branching out to try newbies doesn't usually pay off!

I did drop a chunk of change here. I bought from Fee for the first time. Why did I wait? LOL! I did hit up a few other stores but none were new to me.
