Another Bree Update...
Sigh. She's STILL in the hospital, and will be there for at least the next 3 days.
Last week she had her body cavity drained of the leaking bile, which made her feel a lot better. But then her surgeon (who is not her regular doctor/surgeon) decided that her body would heal itself. When she started feeling bad again, he was like "Wait and see, wait and see, it might heal itself". So he did nothing. And now she's BACK in Edmonton (she has been in Westlock - her hometown's small hospital) getting her body cavity drained, and a surgeon there had to fix the hole inside that was leaking because it WASN'T going to heal itself, like her other surgeon was convinced it was. VENT NOW: I am so frustrated!!! And worried! And mad at her surgeon! BILE IS TOXIC. It should NOT be floating around in her body! A surgeon of all people should KNOW this, and want to do something about it! She has had to be on high doses of morphine for 1.5 weeks already, plus a heavy antibiotic so that her body doesn't develop massive infections from the bile doing damage to the organs its floating around. SO while her stupid a$$ surgeon is "Waiting to see", her other organs (heart, kidneys, liver, intestines, veins, arteries, everything) are being subjected to a toxin, and who knows WHAT damage those might sustain?? So much so that she could develop a massive body infection?? And he's doing NOTHING?!?!??! They've decided that they are firing him as a surgeon and will hopefully get one that is competant. I'll be amazed if they don't end up suing his stupid a$$! I hope they do! *Bree hasn't said ANYTHING about suing, I'm just making that comment because thats what I would do* As for how the hole got there, it could have been that the surgeon himself did a sloppy job or that Bree did some lifting she wasn't supposed to about 5 days post-op. I'm leaning toward the sloppy job after hearing the latest developments. Sorry for the vent, but it feels good to get it out. I'm so worried about the chance that she may be facing other challenges in her future if her other organs are compromised because of a doctor's error...

Oh my gosh!!!! That kind of leak can be deadly!! Wow, I can't believe her surgeon just wanted to take a wait and see approach. I hope they get it under control for her now and she can get better and back home. What an absolute nightmare for her. Sending her big (((((HUGS))))) and healing vibes.

 This is just so horrible. Poor Bree. Let her know we are all thinking about her and hoping she can recover quickly now. I agree with your rants and concerns. I'd be feeling the same!

Oh I can't believe that surgeon! He should have his license taken away and not be allowed to practice anymore! I can't believe that!
I'll be praying for Bree for sure- I hope her new surgeon will be better!!!

That surgeon should have to at least pay her bills for her extended stay! Sheesh!
Praying that finally she will get it fixed and can start healing and that there aren't any long term consequences from this doctor's actions (or lack thereof!)

Hmmm, y'know, when you mentioned in the previous update that the surgeon said to wait and this should heal itself after they drained the bile, I thought that didn't sound right. But you think, what do I know?!? But, SERIOUSLY, bile constantly leaking into your body? Hello!? And it's obviously not healing itself. It just didn't sound right in the first place, but you'd like to think you can trust an "expert." What an arrogant moron!
I'm soooo sorry Bree has had to go through all this. What a nightmare! I'm sending lots of positive thoughts and competent surgeon vibes her way! Hopefully now that the idiot is gone, this will get taken care of properly. {{{{{HUGS}}}}} Bree!!

This is awful. I hope she feels better soon and that the surgeon stays WAY away from Bree. P and PT to you guys that she makes a full recovery with no lasting effects!

Jae, I'm with you, I'm glad they are firing that idiot and yes he should be sued too! Bree could have been better much sooner and the pain she's gone through should not have happened! Poor girl, I hope she feels better soon! Tell her we are thinking of her and are sending lots of hugs!
