Unhappy I Need to Scrap a Funeral

My mother-in-law passed away last year, and I still haven't scrapped the photos from her funeral. Do you have any kit recommendations for me?

Also, I'd love to see your pages that cover such a difficult day.

I don't have any layouts with that theme, but I found something in the store that might work.

I've scrapped two funerals. My Nana's and my sister's Grandfather in-law. I'm really glad I have these memories scrapped. It helps us remember them and how beautiful their services were.

For my Nana's page I used:
Cindy's Layered Templates - Double It Up: Blocked 1, and
Dreamer by Kristin Cronin-Barrow because Nana's favourite colour was purple.

For the other page I used:
Double It Up - Set 22 by Cindy Schneider, and
Stories - 365 by Kristin Cronin-Barrow, as I wanted a neutral yet masculine palette since the photos were all so busy.

While I didn't scrap photos from her funeral, I scrapped my feelings/memory of the last time that we saw her alive using Slow Down by Kristin Cronin-Barrow

I'm very sorry for your family's loss and hope you can find the right kit to scrap her memory/legacy! <3

No actual funeral pages here either but I journaled my emotions after my grandma passed away:

A peaceful one:

And a darker one: (I believe this kit is retired but in case you have it in your stash it's Feeling Blue by Sugary Fancy)

I'm sorry It's hard to scrap the hard events too, but it can be therapeutic. I've never had to scrap a funeral, since we didn't do one for my niece, but I have made multiple pages for her. here is one:

I've scrapped memorial albums - one for a horse and another for a dog... both for my cousins. I also so one for my husband's grandma. KCB's kits lead well because of all the flowers.

Here is a really old page I did - I believe the kit was halloween type kit, ha.

I'm still stalling on scrapping my grandparents' deaths. (They both passed away within the last few years.) I don't have any photos of the funerals, so I plan to use a favorite photo of them and what related items I do have. For my grandmother, that will be a copy of the Eulogy that my father sent me. For my grandfather, it will be a copy of his obituary and a photo of the flag that his coffin was draped with.

I am equally looking forward to, and dreading, scrapping my mother's 6 month battle with rapid progression dementia and passing this summer at the age of 56 years old. I'm not ready yet, but flagged this post for when I am.

I scrapped my mother's funeral when she passed in 2014 after a 10 month battle with Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer. It was hard, but therapeutic as well. I actually scrapped her entire life, and made photo books for my siblings. It was especially for my younger brother who wasn't able to be there for her during this time. I wanted him to have closure as well. My mom wanted a celebration rather than a funeral, and asked that we not wear black... these pages reflect that. I used an assortment of kits.

Hope this helps you decide how to scrap your precious memories.

I still need to scrap my nephew's funeral. I haven't been able to yet. This was really tough on me. He was just 15.

Dawn, here's the thread that I was telling you about.

Does anyone else have any other kit suggestions?

Is there a way to follow or mark this thread? My mom passed away last week after a long battle with cancer and while I'm not quite ready to scrap the visitation and funeral yet, I do want to have these thread for when I am ready.

Can you drag the address to your desktop? Or save to a favourites folder on your computer?

Or maybe pin the products to a pinterest board?

You can email yourself the link to this thread.

At the top of this thread, just underneath your "Welcome, Dawn" is a "Thread Tools" with an arrow next to it. Select that and a drop down appears with "email this page".

Thank you! We take comfort in knowing she's no longer in pain, she has a glorified body now and that we will see her again someday!

Thank you ladies, I try some of those suggestions!
