Thumbs down A TICK...in my head!!!

Let me preface this with saying I grew up on a farm and LIVED outside all day every day and I have never gotten a tick before...NEVER!!!

We spent the whole weekend at the lake with my family...having fun and just relaxing....well yesterday on the way home from church something made me touch the back of my head and I felt a "bump"...I thought it was a pimple or ingrown hair and I told DH this and I asked him to look at it as soon as we pulled in my parents drive way.

He looked and a split second later said ...it's a tick!!! **ACK** At this point I am freaking out and totally grossed out and just want to cry!!! So what does me the big baby do....called my dad on his cell phone to ask if they are close to getting home because I have a tick in my head and I want HIM to get it out!!!

I sat bent over my parent couch for a long 15 minutes till they got home and he could pull it out!!!

I haven't stopped itching my head yet!!!!

So that was my fun adventures this weekend...my DH swear he is never going back to Ohio again!!!

UGH, I HATE ticks!! And naturally, as a bridge engineer who does inspections, I get the climb around in all sorts of overgrown nature and find them crawling all ove rme constantly. Thankfully I have to wear jeans and workboots, but after I find them crawling on me I immediately freak out and for the rest of the day think they are crawling on me.

UGH. Thank goodness for Dads!! I'm glad he could take care of it for you, I don't blame you at ALL for wanting him to get it out ASAP.

Oh how creepy! Glad your dad got it out for you! Sometimes we still need our parents even when we're grown.

eww! Chloe had one a few weeks ago, i noticed it while we were at Kindergarten round up. So, luckily, i was able to take her to the school nurse and she got it off. it had just barely gotten a hold of here so it wasn't inbedded very much. then a week or two later Emma had one. I made Chad pull it off, lol. Now, i check them regularly everytime i give them baths. yuck.

LOL, somehow a couple years ago, I got one in a VERY private area.

This year, we're going to be watching for them like crazy because apparently the ticks carrying Lyme disease are spreading around here. Don't want to mess with that!

In our part of Illinois, ticks are bad! So we always have to check for ticks! They can be anywhere!

ACK! I hate ticks! I never found one on me, thank goodness cause I would probably freak out. I'm already scared to death of all the other weird bugs around this area. I found a tick on our dog before and we got it out okay. It was very very tiny.

I'm glad your dad was able to get it off of you quickly. <<<HUGS>>>

I HATE ticks! We don't have them here in AZ (at least, not that I know of), but I grew up with them.

We went to my parents' farm last month and were going for a walk out in the fields. On our way out, my mom told me to "check for ticks". Well, every time any bug would fly by -- like a gnat, fly, or harmless moth -- my kids would FREAK and scream "AHHHH. IT'S A TICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" They lead such sheltered lives here.

eeek, I would be so freaked out. Glad you were able to get it off!

The only tick I like is The Tick, the cartoon.

Oh yea I live in Ohio and they seem to be bad this year. My poor 9 year old gets them more than any of us. I told her they must like the sweet ones. I had to pull one OUT and it was under her arm pit. The head was already inside and I knew I had to get the head out but forgot to heat up a needle and stick it and that makes it pull out so you don't hurt your child LOL Not me I was the mean mom and just yanked praying for the head LOL

They are nasty little boogers
