Default Things I hate about getting older

That stupid pointy hair that grows out of my face that I pluck and then it comes back the very next day....

feel free to share yours.

My hormones are wonky and I'm getting zits again.
Clothes are either for old ladies or young trampy girls.
I've made dinner too many times at this point. No one told me I'd have to feed my kids and it's getting old.
My leg skin is starting to look weirdly translucent, like my mother's... or even my grandmother's.
I have to pay bills. Being a grown-up sucks.

I thought I was the only one with the creepy chin hair that grows back as soon as you pull it!!

My skin is worse now than when I was a teenager (one of the reasons I haven't done a video -- can I use puppets?)

LOL Jen...can I use puppets? We don't care what you look like - puppets, a mask...whatever makes you comfortable. :P

Things I hate about getting older -
Cooking dinner for the 1 millionth time - definitely agree there!
The transition of being child, to being a parent, and now being my parents' parent/confidant is really weird.
What is worse than the pointy chin hair is when you discover it in a meeting with clients and you can't stop touching it.
Hot flashes to the point where you need to take a change of clothes with you everywhere because you are always sweating.
That awful reality that your children are taking SATs and ACTs and will actually be leaving for college in just a few short years - it's both exciting and sad all at once.
The realization that you have become your mother.

Waking up injured with a stiff neck or back. Like, how do I hurt myself sleeping?!

A nighttime routine that takes 20 minutes to get through. No more wash, floss, brush, bed anymore. Now there are creams and products...

Let's see...I think being an adult is better than being a child
The main reason is because I don't depend on anyone and don't need permissions for this and that.
But what I hate about it is the skin getting older, the more responsibilities and the fact that I now want to have kids but it's not working (so far). I guess being an adult woman is worse than being an adult man...don't you think? Cause you know women are pressured to look fresh, young, good, etc while men...? How many men applying day/night cream or whatever have you seen?

Well, it sure beats the alternative It's not all grand but I'm not finding it too horrible. At 43, I don't really feel old though I may I look it.

One thing that bothers me is that our society tends to discard people as they age, I think that's a terrible thing.

That I'm EXHAUSTED by 9:00pm.
If I help my daughter pull an all nighter and study for mid-terms or finals, I'm a mess for 3 days.
Sheesh - It's the early bird special for me :P

Paying the bills. I can handle being old, fat, ugly, hairy and cranky if people will just take the bills away...

Having zero energy.

Everything hurts.

Grey hair.

Being over 40 with an active toddler is hard and tiring.

OMG, I am so glad I am not the only one with that damn weird hair, its under my chin though.
I hate that I have wrinkles and pimples, they don't make skin care to combat both problems at once.
Or that I can eat healthy, work out regularly and yet the extra weight hangs on for dear life.

But you all are right, it's weird sometimes to realize I am an adult and responsible for other people.

Over 40 and having a toddler is tiring but I love being in my 40's I feel so much more confidant and wiser and more at peace with things. I guess I've learned to give up trying to control things and just go with the flow and trust in the process. Yes my skin isn't as tight or toned but I'm at a place where I really don't care. I find that I enjoy my life so much more now and being in the moment, being present. At some point I will just stop coloring over the greys and go boldly silver or white and if I have a little extra weight around my belly it will just be more cushy for my grandkids.

There are definitely things I prefer about being older, so it's not all bad, lol. I don't love looking older, especially since there is so much agism in our society, most notably toward women, IMO. My biggest gripe is my lack of resilience physically. Even though I'm in better shape than when I was younger, I'm way more susceptible to injury, aches and pains.

The random chin hairs drive me nuts! Also, after exercising I get stiffer than I used to and am more susceptible to injury. Oh and don't get me started on the whole weight thing...it is so much harder to maintain my weight...ugh...so frustrating!

They do! Paula's Choice has a product line called Resist Advanced Kit for Wrinkles + Breakouts. I don't use the entire system, but I do use several of the products.

I ordered some stuff from there, but it didn't seem to help. Can't remember what it was though.

A few months ago my older son touched my arm and said: "Mom, your skin already feels like grandma´s skin."
A few weeks ago I bought a black shirt with pink swans. My (lovely) older son said: "Mom, don´t you think you´re a little too old to wear this?"

My hair starts to become white.
I start thinking "if this was my son/my daughter...." when I see teenagers who do strange things. In the same moment I tell myself "when I was young..."
(signs of getting older lol)

Default Getting older

I am 73 years old and finding old age to be OK, I do get pointy hairs, wrinkled skin and all that good stuff that goes with getting older but all and all I am enjoying it. I am my own boss which is a good thing, I live alone with my 2 cats and find being alone is easy for me. I do have my daughter close by and we spend quite a bit of time together.

Presented with the alternative, I'll take getting older.

Eyebrows. Ugh. As I've gotten older I get these really stiff, long hairs in my eyebrows. They make me crazy so I pluck them. Now my eyebrows are pretty sparse and they were always pretty full. I've always had crazy hairs (since I hit puberty) so those don't bother me much.

The other thing is my eye sight. I am SO annoyed with my eyes. I need to get in to see the eye doctor. My once perfect vision is so ridiculous right now. Actually, someone who hasn't had such sharp eye sight may not think mine is bed, but it is driving me crazy. Things that used to be super sharp are blurry... and taking pictures. Ugh. I have to use (and trust!) auto focus because I can't tell if I'm getting things in focus.

Other than that, I like being 41.
