Last night after the announcement I SERIOUSLY thought, "Oh, I should give him call and congratulate him." LMAO!!! I then was thinking, "OH MY GAWD, I just said I was going to call the new president!!!" I have no idea what I was thinking.

That is so funny -- I had the same impulse! I thought, I should e-mail him to congratulate him! Then I realized that -- even though we went to law school together -- he has no idea who I am and have no "real" connection!

I am so excited!!! What an AMAZING speech...I had tears in my eyes.

I thought BOTH of their speeches were amazing. I cried for McCain ... I feel badly that he worked so hard and didn't get elected, but at the same time I am so glad that he didn't win. I hope that Obama will take him up on help/input regarding military issues, though.

I was surprised at the huge gap ... I really thought it would be closer, but I am happy for the results regardless. I hope that Obama can be all that he wants to be for us, and that the American people can work toward healing (in many ways) for this country and the world.
