Apparently my 16 y/o son cant tell time LOL
My husband has to run an errand so he asks my son to go with him to help and tells him he will be leaving around a quarter to four. So my son says what's that like 20 to four? My husband says no a quarter of...it means 3:45. My son says "Well I didn't grow up in you and mom's time. I don't know what you mean by that." I don't know if he was just not thinking right or what because he defenitely knows fractions and can tell time properly but that just cracked me up. Especially the comment about growing up in my time. Like we grew up before clocks were invented or something LOL

But you did, Jessica!! Analog clocks are sooooooooooooooo outdated, yk?? JP told me he shouldn't have to learn to tell time on one since he plans to only ever by digital watches/clocks when he's an adult. Of course, he also told me that dictionaries are old-fashioned and outdated since we now have Google. He was a bit ruffled when I told him he'd need to know how to spell the word before using Google to find its meaning.

I remember once my mom telling me to leave to go to the busstop at a quarter after. Well I did not know fractions yet so did not know a quarter of an hour meant 15 minutes. I think I was only 6 or 7? I did know a quarter was 25 so I thought that meant I needed to leave at 25 after. Needless to say I missed the bus.

I don't think I knew what "a quarter of" meant until I took a semester of French in high school. I knew what "quarter till" meant, though, so I might have been able to figure it out.
