Looking through the hybrid forum, I see older threads about printers so I thought I would start a new one.
My older Canon Pixma MX922 is due to be replaced. It has been a bit since I have really looked at printers so I am not sure what direction I want to go. I thought I would jump in here to see if anyone has any input on what printer they use or what they have found to be good for printing scrapbook supplies at home. What I would like is a printer I can use to print my collections out that is 1. Not a total ink sucker 2. Has other features like Copy/Scan/Print (I use these a lot as well) I was looking at Canon again and the mega tanks but some reviews are iffy. What do you use to print for your hybrid creations? Thanks!

I don't have advice on specific printers, mine is a pretty low end HP model that I wouldn't actually recommend. However, I DO love the Instant Ink program.
It's a subscription model, which sounds weird for a printer, but it's worked out really well for us. Basically, your printer has to be connected to the internet and when it starts to run low on ink they automatically send you new cartridges. The subscription is tiered based on how many pages you print a month. One dot on a page or a full photo registers the same. There are also roll-over pages, which for an occasional printer is fantastic. Say I don't print a lot in January, my pages roll over to the next month - and they keep rolling over until you reach a cap. So in February I can print to my heart's content... if that makes sense. There are definitely pros and cons to this system and I am not sure if HP makes a higher end printer that would work for your needs. But I've found the HP model to be the best bang for our buck. Before this we were paying an astronomical amount for ink and buying generic always gunked up the printer. And it would run out on me at the worst times and then it would turn into an emergency to replace it. This just removes the headache and automates everything for me, which I need.

I have an Epson ET-4850. It's an EcoTank, and very cost effective in regards to ink. I find the print quality very good, and it copies, scans and prints no problem. I'd recommend it.

I have an Epson ET2800 and I love it. The eco tanks are great. Mine also feeds paper from the back which I like a lot better than having the paper trays underneath where the paper comes up, loops around, then has a paper jam,

I also have an Epson Ecotank. I love that the ink lasts pretty much forever. I've had it for years and have only bought ink bottles once.
