it happened to me again!!!
I lost EVERYTHING AGAIN!!! At least this time some of my older stuff was backed up....but i lost all my new kits...im devestated. I lost MORE pictures of my son. I am in tears...all i did was update my laptop with a windows update and it would never restart....i had just a black screen.
 Ugh i am so getting an EHD for christmas.... sorry i just needed to vent....can this yr be over yet? it's been the worst...

Ohhh...huuge hugs! Maybe it's not completely lost and you'll be able to recover those files?

Oh gosh Holly that is terrible.

Nope everything is gone...I have to reload EVERYTHING...this sucks...i am begining to really hate computers....I have defiantly learned my lesson...

OH NO!! I'm sorry, Holly! I just bought a new EHD this weekend! 500 GB at Costco for $99 (only $40 more for the TB... lol). Anyways, I have an old EHD sitting around here that I won't use anymore if you want it to hold you over until you can get a new one! PM me if you need it!

sucks indeedy!!! esp. to happen again!!! and it seems when one person starts having that happen here, there is a rash of hard drive failures....

One other thing - I think also have 2 backup methods.. I don't know HOW many threads I've seen with digi scrappers losing everything on EHDs too... so I say burn dvds and do backup to ehd.. or even us an online backup in addition to that.

Yep, I back up to two different EHD's. Every time I leave the house to go anywhere out of town, one EHD goes with me!! LOL I'm paranoid.

Oh wow that's so sad....I've been through it a couple times myself......Last time, I actually tried the geek squad just to see of they could retrieve my data, but it was the hard drive that just quit working.....I was under the impression though, if they could have just gotten the hard drive to spin, they would have been able to get my data possibly. Now I use EHDs and back up with Mozy

I know how you feel it happened to me twice and I back up everything to DVD, Mozy, and an external for my laptop. I also have an external on our Family computer I couldn't deal with it again
 So sorry for all you lost, Hugs

I'm sure you could try contacting the stores you bought from to see if there's any way to reset your orders. Some stores offer as a purchase option. You buy the option and then they'll reset all your orders.

I DEFINITELY feel your pain! That happened to me this week (still hopeful I can recover some) and I've had a migraine for 4 days... even came home early today because of it (trying to sidetrack myself so I don't think about how bad I feel).
I think we need to have a big huge pity party for each other... I'll bring brownies and booze... seriously... we can countdown to the new year together. Sending hugs!

I shoud really back mine up alllll my stuff and pics from when callum was born to now are all on EHD with no back up eeek my job for the new year, I too need a new hard drive mine is full upol
