I have this saved to a doc because I forget all the time!

C Drive\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop X\Presets\Styles where X is the version number for your version of Photoshop.

You drag and drop whatever shadow you want to use on the ellie you want to shadow. Is that what you're doing?

where it shows the choices...it is just a black box instead of an apple with the effect (does that make sense) in the effects box.. and when I click on it to add it then it says it wont work in this version...

The description of what you bought (in whatever store you bought them at) usually tells which programs they're compatible with. Like most say PSE 5-9 or whatever. And no, when you do get them installed and working, they won't have an apple like the other PSE standard things. They are just a black box, kinda, but they'll show you the depth of the shadow.

The black or apple or any icon will depend on what thumbnail file you installed with the action. When you install in PSE 9 there should be a atn file for the action and a png file for each action. Did you have those?

If they still don't work, you might need to delete the MediaDatabase.db3 file. Scroll down on this tutorial to see where it is. (I usually just rename the file - like ad a number to the beginning so it is 3MediaDatabase.db3 or something just in case something goes really bad and I want to get the file back.

As to shadows here, I'm pretty sure Jen Barrette has or at least had some in the store.

I realized that most of the instructions we've been given are for actions. Is your shadows an action or a styles? You want to put styles in the layer styles folder and actions in the photo effects folder.
