Default Who else has unusual weather?

It's going to be 60 degrees here tomorrow. In January. Global warming anyone?? What's it like in your part of the world and are your temps normal for you this time of year?

I was reading online that where I live had the wettest December on record since 1909 and yet it is supposed to be summer

In Iowa it's also suppose to be 60 tomorrow...we have absolutely NO snow and it rained the day after Christmas. So weird! (but we are definitely enjoying it!! Blake played outside today riding his bike...never thought he would be doing that in January!)

We've gotten just a dusting so far. I'm fine with it but my husband drives a snow plow in the winter so he's not quite as happy

It's normally raining and in the 40's here but today it was 65. We had 2 days of rain in December. I'm not missing the rain and cold temps but we do need them.

It's back to sweltering hot here, but in the evenings the temps drop down real significantly--it's been this way for several years. I think two years ago we had quite a cold front that extended all the way to February, that was REALLY weird.

Yep - we've been unseasonably warm here too. We've hardly had any snow at all this year, and today my kids were out at the park behind our house running around with the other neighborhood kids. Crazy! Can't say that I'm too sad about it though as the last two years were SO COLD!

I'm so happy about the 60+ degree "winter" weather here. I don't like the cold From the news, it seems like Gary Lezak (KC area) is predicting some winter storms in the near future, though, so that won't be fun.

We've had a year of wonky weather, though, haven't we?

Usually at this time of the year in Wales, it is freezing cold, maybe snow.

At the moment it is 12 degrees during the day which is very warm for us - raining all the time - and such high winds that trees are being blown down.

Unusual weather here as well. We're having a very warm winter compaired to other years. Had no snow at all! And while I was never prepared for snow the previous years, I am now (snow boots for the kids, bought a sleigh, a snow shovel and salt) and there's no snow! Argh! We do have a storm at the moment, thunder and lighnting and lots of rain, I'm glad I am inside!

Weird here too - we have NO snow at all. It was in the high 40s/low 50s during Christmas vacation but yesterday and today it has been 5 (F) in the mornings and only warming up to about 18 or so but windy, so with the windchill about -5 (F) Supposed to be back up in the 30s for a couple days starting tomorrow though.

As much as I hate the snow we need it economically - the ski resorts up in the higher mountains have been able to make snow, but we have a huge snowmobiling industry too and the people who depend on them for income are hurting, as well as the ski areas in the lower parts.

We finally had a dusting of snow that did not melt for Christmas. Yesterday was real cold, -20 Celsius, and it was snowing. Today, it's going to be -7 and there might be a little snow. It will be hotter this week-end, it seems, around 0, so the snow will be melting, which is really uncommon in January around here. Weird.

It's still been cold here, but not as cold as normal I don't think. It was -11C here yesterday but Saturday is supposed to be a high of 3C and have showers or something. We've had 2 good dumps of snow but both melted within a week so now we just have a light dusting. I wouldn't mind if it was just above zero...like 5C every day would be fine with me.

No snow days in the future for this teacher. Last year we had something like 10 snow days, often 2-3 a week in January. It's 60 degrees here today. Even if it would snow, the ground is so warm that it would have to snow a lot for it to stick...

We've been unusually cold this week. I think we even broke an 80-something year record for the lows. We've had 20s for the past few mornings and one day never got out of the 40s.

It's freaking Florida!!!!!!!

It's definitely warmer than usual here...I guess it shouldn't be a surprise since we broke heat records this summer. And last winter was basically record cold...so I guess 'weird' weather is becoming the norm.

We've just had a cold snap the past couple of days..but we've had a warmer than usual winter so far. But it's really not that unusual for the South to have a "warmer than usual" winter every few years. Our normals for January are usually highs in the 50's and lows in the lower 30's. This year we've only had a handful of really cold days.

Yep, unseasonably warm here to. Supposed to be mid-60s here in Nebraska today. I'm not complaining at all -- though I do wonder what the rest of winter will bring.

Normally we'd already have a ton of snow, or would have had snow that melted and then got more. But we just got our first actual snow of the season Monday.

Today this high is 35, which is actually kinda warm for January in Ohio. Next week it's supposed to be in the mid 40s. Quite honestly I don't like it. I like the snow and cold for January it's what I'm used to.

it's probably a little warmer than normal here, but you really never know with texas. The mornings have been in the 30s but by the afternoon, it's in the mid-60s! The girls have been playing outside almost every day for the past week! I'm loving it!

We've had quite the cold snap lately, but we're about to hit a stretch of unseasonably high temps as well. 70 in January is just weird.

Only a dusting of snow here in Wisconsin... which was on New Years Day. The temps have been in the upper 20s to low 30's, which is odd... we usually have a real cold snap where wind chills are in the -20's...

After the last two years of record breaking snows... I'm really nervous as to when Winter decides to kick in - how long will it last into spring... kwim?

Dude, we had the worst, weirdest weather ever in 2011. First, it was FREEZING cold from Jan-March (like -27 windchills) but it never snowed. Then Summer rolled around and it was so stinkin' hot. And all along it didn't snow, rain, or anything. We were in the worst drought of like sixty years and barely grew any crops. It was a hard, hard year to be in agriculture.

On December 20, we got 12-18 inches of snow though and more moisture in the month of December than the rest of the year combined. We've all got our fingers crossed that 2012 will be a much better year weather wise. So far, it's been pretty normal, but maybe a little warmer than normal. We are all hoping another blizzard will hit soon.

I'm loving our weird temperatures right now. It's giving the kids the opportunity to get outside and play with the new puppy while they are home for break. I'm just wondering when we're going to get slammed with all the cold temps we've been avoiding so far . . .

We've had temperatures in the 40s, even 50s.. here in New England in January, it's pretty much unheard of. It's been like this since November, when we normally have temps under 20 degrees. It snowed right before Halloween and then hasn't snowed since, until today. Finally though it's feeling like winter, and hitting 0 degrees at night the past couple of days... but it's supposed to be back in the 40s this weekend.

See, this is us here in Maine too Rachel - we did get snow right before Halloween but it didn't last long and we got a little bit on Christmas day that is long gone. I'm waiting to get slammed in January and February I just hope spring comes before June!

Global warming - YES!! It's funny Sara, I just woke up this morning and was like, huh? Zero degrees at 9am on January 5th? It's supposed to be +6C here today!!! That is INSANE! It's usually something like -60C here this month. Makes me kind of scared for February, it's it going to be super super cold or is this spring? I'll take spring!

This is so so weird for us. And we hardly have any snow. A skiff we call it (light dusting).

Nope. In fact, we are headed into the dryest season on record. Last month it was freezing at night for a couple of weeks ... that isn't normal either. Today I think we are supposed to be in the mid 60's. Weird, weird weather.

It gets very very very cold here, usually January/February. It's the wind that does it.
I much prefer this weather that we're having now!

We are having very unseasonal weather. It snowed around Thanksgiving, rained a little around Christmas, was 65* on Monday, and we're not expecting any 'winter' weather according to the long range forecast. We've had some super cold freezing temps as well, but super dry.

DH drives plow/works for DOT & is on the night shift, they have had NOTHING to do at all for work, they can't do construction at night and there isn't rain/snow/rocks to get off the road.

None of our ski parks are open, I think Mt Shasta has 2" of snow, 2!!! Crater Lake (not a ski area, but a local mountain attraction) has 7" normally right now they have over 70"!!

At this rate, winter may come in March/April or July!!
