Thumbs down Does your SO nag you about scrapping?

My husband is constantly nagging me about the amount of time I spend on the computer (most of which is scrapping). I'm just wondering if I'm alone. I don't think it's any different than watching TV ... it's just a different screen, lol.

So, does your significant other nag you?

Oh my gosh...all the time! He jokes that the computer growls at him when he sits down to it too...nice.

I can think of a lot worse things to be doing that digital scrapbooking and talking on the forums!!!

Nope. I am really lucky... he's into computer games so we sit together in the family room on our laptops doing our thing! Before I did digi, I used to nag him about the time he spent playing games, but now I have my own hobby and I spend just as much time... or more... at the computer. It's a great relationship. lol

We are a family of computer addicts...4 computers in the same room...all doing our thing. My husband likes gaming. All of us play World of Warcraft...which I started because of HIM...wish he'd reciprocate and pick up scrapbooking! LOL Actually, I'm trying to get him to start using Lightroom and take care of that side of things.

Sorry you have to deal with that though, Sheri.

As I sit here scrapping, dh is gaming at his computer desk in the other corner of the room! lol. We still chat and stuff, I go on about my scrapping, and he talks about his games. Sometimes during the day when the girls want to color or play with play doh, we're all up here hanging out in the computer room!

Nope, and I'm so lucky! I try to scrap when my girls are asleep and my DH is studying or watching sports. Before he was in school and busy studying...yeah, he was CONSTANTLY nagging me. Only six more months of school...and then I guess my scrapping time will be cut short.

My hubby doesn't nag me about my scrap time because we like to "parallel play." He plays World of Warcraft on the other computer while I scrap and the kids sleep. It's a pretty good arrangement, I think!

No, not really, but I have cut my computer time down a lot. Evenings are spent with the family and after the kids go to bed watching TV shows/movies with Mr. Eve. He use to get upset sometimes when I was designing because I was on here SO much, now we have a happy medium. lol

OMGOsh, all the time, but really it probably IS my fault. I neglect the things that matter because I can't resist the allure of the computer.

I am very lucky that my hubby has always supported my scrapping. I think he realizes that, being so far away from friends and family, I need SOMETHING for myself that keeps me connected to the rest of the world. Plus, he LOVES to read forums and blogs, so we sit on the couch together with our lappys.

I do have to say though, if I don't keep up on the housework, he gets a little crabby. lol

Mine used to, but that was until I explaned the Sweet Rewards system and the amount of money we save a month because of it. Now he's pushing me do scrap more because I only got 20 points last month!

He's a geek too so most of the time I'm ok since he's playing online in the other corner of the room. When he's between 2 games, though, he complains sometimes...

All the time! He is brutal because he NEVER uses the computer, I mean NEVER. He has touched our computer a total of 5 times in as many years! He doesn't get it, can understand who I'm talking to at 6am just cause I'm typing, doesn't understand the whole 'forum' thing at all!

Yes, yes, yes! He has serious repetitive strain injuries from using a computer that are actually threatening his career so he's pretty sensitive about the time I spend on the computer, fearing I'll also start having problems. I understand that he's worried about me, but sometimes it drives me nuts!

We are a family of computer addicts also! Normally I scap most at night, so DH and I sit together in the family room or in our room and I scrap while he plays poker or messes with his fantasy teams! It's nice actually, because we still talk and spend time together and neither of us gets upset about too much computer time!

Right now...no since he's not home lol...but when he is home he doesn't either...usually I scrap while he's at work and then IF we are on the computer at night after DS is asleep he's on his laptop and I'm on mine...usually though we shut down computer time around 7 pm and spend time together watching tv or whatever. (I sure miss whatever )

My DH grumbles a bit about it, mostly because I don't take the girls out to play as often as he thinks I should...like I can take the girls out ALL day EVERY day...he doesn't like that I'm on the computer while we're watching TV, which I don't understand. What's the difference which screen I'm paying attention to?

I know my mom and MIL talk about me behind my back. Guess they think I should be doing housework constantly like they do. Well, like my MIL. My mom isn't the one who cleans my house when she comes to visit.

Mine has said things a few times, but I've also said it to him about his time online. We both try to keep each other aware when we're getting a bit obsessive. But considering this family has more computers in the house than living beings (the TV even has it's own computer for media stuff and it's used as a mini-server), needless to say that we're a computer geek family and we all spend a lot of time on them.

He does get upset that I don't paper scrap anymore, and he set up a craft area for me that I use only as clothes storage now. And because I don't show him layouts like I used to, he doesn't see the benefit all the time, and he asks to see them. I haven't printed in a timely fashion this year, so we haven't sat to look at new layouts the way we used to, and he does ask about that.

But generally, knowing that my font money is bringing us extras that we didn't have before, he understands if I need to be in here working.

No, he doesn't. He spends as much time on his photography forums/pogo/fantasy sports leagues as I do on scrapping. I work on the computer day time, so that's not like that's an option anyway. Of course, there are certain people in my family that think that it's not *really* work, because I don't leave the house to work...but I digress.

I scrap at night on my laptop on the couch while he watches tv, or he's on his own computer. We both have a PC each, the kids have an old crappy ass one downstairs (which we're replacing for them for Christmas we think, because it really does suck LOL), and I have my laptop. I only scrap on the couch on my laptop after the kids go to bed generally, so we can sit together, which is nice.

Mine never does - unless the house is a disaster. LOL!!! He's usually on his computer or in the garage with his jeep/truck so it doesn't really bother him how much I'm online.

Mine's not happy at the amount of time I spend on the computer. He does grumble and makes me feel pretty guilty at times. BUT--he's the one watching football on TV 24/7 with his new little college football channel...and we're in the same room....He just doesn't get it, I guess...but I hold out hope that he will soon.

Also, he used to bug me about the time spent paper scrapping, too...soooo...I think he just likes to bug me!

I have a keeper I think.

At first he did, because I was always bugging him being on the computer so much (he's a videographer/photographer/web designer), but once I became a digital scrapbooker, now it's the other way around. LOL!

it comes and goes with his moments.. if he's watching a football game, Nascar, drag racing or whatever guy stuff he's into.. he doesn't say a word. Usually when he's feeling 'neglected' do I hear all about 'my time on the computer' arggh!

Mine is very resentful of the amount of time I spend on the 'puter (and I have seriously cut back out of guilt). Though I think a lot of that stems from the fact he wishes he could spend more time on it himself.
I think the most painful part is his pretty-much complete lack of interest in the finished layouts. He hasn't even read through our son's baby book or the family album from last year, which are printed books in the living room. Since I don't really have any friends to share my scrapping with, it does get a little depressing. But hey, there's always therapy....

We'll see what happens when we combine households in the next month.

He would complain off and on earlier this year because I was 'always' on the computer when we were watching TV. He just doesn't get (yet!) how boring I think it is to just sit in front of the TV and mindlessly zone for hours on end. I like to watch TV AND scrap at the same time! *lol*

I started leaving my lappy at home so that I only scrapped at my own house on my own time, so the complaints died off after that.

He has a very fancy touch/tablet lappy for work now, so I've started bringing mine over as he begins to play with his at night, and there hasn't been much complaint now that he has a toy, too.

Basically, he just doesn't play well by himself and needs someone to entertain him or be as entertained as he is at all times.

No, he actually bought me my own lappy after I was monopolizing the computer so much. We sit and watch TV shows while I do my thing or we sit in the same room doing our own computer thing.

Mine has given up on nagging. Or else I'm tuning him out. He seems to think that I'd be a better housekeeper if I was on the computer less. Apparently he doesn't remember that I was a lousy housekeeper before I ever started digiscrapping.

My DH just does not get it at all...I have tried to explain it to him 1,000 different ways but he still is clueless!!! The other thing that cracks me up is that HE bough me my laptop all on his own and new complains that I am on it too much....he is such an enabler I tell you!!! Plus, when he gets home from work after dinner he goes into his man cave and does the same damn thing. The only difference is that he is playing Spider Solitaire or searching the JR Cigar site so all I have to say to him is this.......
