Default Downton Abbey

I may be late but I just saw the report that it will be back for season 5!!

Can't wait for season 4 to begin in January.

I am SO excited!!! I hope it's still good, though. Part of me worries it will not be the same without Matthew.

We were in the UK recently and it took all of my will power not to watch it. hehe (it's currently airing there) I'm anxiously waiting for it to air on PBS here in the States in January. We were able to visit Inveraray Castle while in Scotland and they had a bunch of photos of the cast when they filmed there (known as Duneagle Castle in Downton Abbey).

We watch Masterpiece Classics normally and they've recently started airing interviews with the cast. It sounds like it will be a great season even without Matthew. I'm glad there are other Downton freaks here with me.

I'm really going to miss Matthew though.

I might have to rewatch the first 3 again. I watched it in the early spring and like...fast & furious. I got hooked and I couldn't stop. I'm thinking I should watch with a little bit less...craze this time? Maybe catch new things I may have missed in my vigor?! lol!

Me too! I checked out Seasons 1 and 2 from the library and literally watched non-stop. And then couldn't wait for my reserve for Season 3 to come up, so I bought the season on iTunes. I read an interview with the producer (I think?), saying that "there is nothing harder to dramatize than happiness." so I understand how Matthew's exit is good for the drama, but wow! Won't be the same!! I will miss those eyes, for sure...

I was so ticked off after season 3, I almost wished I had stopped at season 2 where things were actually upbeat for a change!!

Me too, Jill.

I am not really excited about season 4 now and thinking about just bailing out at this point.

I started re-watching Season 3, but I'm on the episode where Sybil dies and I got like right up to her going into labor, stopped it, and haven't turned it back on since. lol

Oh and I'll be able to watch it as soon as the UK version hits Amazon. I plan to just rent one episode a week. lol

Gaaaah! I need to watch Season 3 - I see a binge watching session in the near future (even with the spoiler that Matthew is gone).

I go back and forth with loving and hating this show. I don't think I could watch a whole season spread out week after week. I need to be able to watch them all in a row!

I've read the spoilers of season 4 of first few episodes. Looking forward to January.

This is literally the only show I've watched in about 15 years! I was DEVASTATED by the ending of season 3. I wasn't sure I could watch without Matthew so it is good to know the new season is looking interesting!

I wish it was on BBC America, like Doctor Who, and I could just watch it when it actually airs! :P

I often wish we didn't have a TV Ripal! The kids are the only ones watching it and the sound of it is like nails on a chalkboard to me!

Haven't watched it - but I think I need to get the entire series from the library. It seems like a series I would enjoy

Between Netflix and PBS, I managed to watch the first three seasons and can't wait for the next!

I also really loved "Go Ask the Midwife." British period dramas rock!!!

Amy, we haven't had TV for almost 6 years and haven't missed it. Started Netflix 4 yrs ago and HuluPlus 2 years ago, that's as far as our TV watching goes for kids. I asked kids if they miss TV (for live shows... ) and they don't care for it. I don't watch anything on Netflix or HuluPlus either. I know myself to get addicted to the shows, so it's better to stay away from them! LOL
