Default Best mop around?

We moved into our new house last weekend and we have a lot of hardwood floors. I was looking to buy a new mop or steam machine.

Does anybody have Consumer Report and could share what you find?
or tell me what you have and if you love it or not.

I'd like to know too. I kind of like my O'cedar easy wring spin mop. I have a steam mop but I don't like it. I prefer to pull out my waggoner steamer (canister style) and use that.

Not sure if it's the "best" mop or not, but last week I bought an O-Cedar EasyWring Microfiber Spin Mop. That's an Amazon link but I bought it when I was in Home Depot. Our house (we moved here a year ago) has NO carpet. I've got an electric steam mop but haven't been impressed with trying to clean the whole house with it. My last house was carpet everywhere except the kitchen and bathrooms and the steam mop was fine for that. So far, I'm liking this O-Cedar mop. I bought a couple of refills for it but haven't opened them yet.

Yay!! Congrats on your new house, Lea!!! I can't wait to see photos!
I really love my Bissell steam mop. I was talking to Wendy, and mentioned how much I loathe mopping, she recommended a steam mop. I don't know how I lived without it. LOL!
CR says this is the best: Bissell PowerFresh Slim 2075A steam mop
I have something similar, probably an older model.

Thank you ladies for the recommendations! I'm worried about the manual one because I don't like changing the water so many times during mopping. I feel like our house gets pretty dirty fast.

Tammy thank you for checking CR for me! I'll look into it!
I wonder if a steam mop with vacuum included would be best too. But then I would feel like my regular vacuum would be useless.

I'm not sure about ALL hardwood floors, but when we moved into our house (loved the steam mop in our previous house!) I found out that the steam mop was causing some of our boards to warp & "come up" and the repair man said to never use it on hardwoods... I would check the warranty on your floors & see if its mentioned? I use just a cheap microfiber mop & can only damp mop - and I hate doing it... lol

I have a Shark Genius steam mop - (scored it with Kohl's cash and a 30% off coupon - I paid $25 for it!) - I haven't it had it too long, have used it about a half dozen times and have been very pleased with it! I use it on the least amount of steam on our hardwoods and highest steam for tile. Like Amie said though, maybe check w/ the floor warranty before using it on your hardwood.

lol there is no warranty on our floors. The house is almost 100 years old. The floors are bad already so I'm not really concerned.
I'll look into it a bit more though.

I don't have any Kohl's account but that sounds like an awesome deal to just pay $25!
