Holiday Movies- Christmas/winter-time
Okay, so my kids (and us parents!) love watching holiday movies, but we only have a couple DVDs and watch the same ones over & over and over.... since the holiday seasons are coming up quickly, can you help me make a list of some great holiday movies? (I hope it's not too soon to think of these!!!)
This thread is for the Christmas-time movies (kid/family friendly please). I will make a separate list for the Halloween-y season ones.. Thanks for helping a girl out  My kids will be very appreciative!

Elf...I introduced my girls to Elf this past Christmas and they absolutely LOVED it...which is good, b/c I do too!

Aaron and I apparently have the same taste in movies because Elf is a Christmas staple at our house. I can quote it yearound. LOL
That and A Christmas Story.

The best Christmas movie of all time.....A Christmas Story (my absolutely favorite movie and I watch it a THOUSAND times during the holidays. I even watch the 24hr marathon on TBS)
The Grinch The Santa Clause is pretty popular in our house. Home Alone

Oh yes Christmas Vacation...it's a family tradition to watch it while we put up our Christmas tree at my parents house. Been that way since I was born, and I still go over to keep with the tradition every year.

I LOVE Elf, I watch it all year round! We love Christmas with the Kranks. It's another one we watch all year round. A couple of our other faves are Surviving Christmas (with Ben Affleck) and Deck the Halls with Matthew Broderick.
I actually haven't seen a few of these listed and will definitely check them out. Thanks for all the suggestions

It's a Wonderful Life & White Christmas are my favorites - not really for young kiddos though.
Blake loves all the Santa Clause movies. Along with Rudolph, Frosty (and Frosty Returns!), Mickey Mouse Christmas movies (they have so many). and the Grinch.

I'm a sucker for those ABC Family holiday movies... you know the ones they show all December where something horrible happens and Christmas cheer makes everything right. LOL Anyway, I love TV in December. Every night's a sappy movie.
But for the kids, I fell in love with Disney's Prep and Landing ... SO cute! It's one of those 30 minute cartoons not really a movie though.

Muppet Christmas Carol Home Alone 1 & 2 Elf Christmas Vacation A Christmas Story Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer That's pretty much the favs in this house. I can't believe how much we love the muppet one, I'm not some muppet freak or anything, but that movie is adorable!

Elf Christmas Vacation It's a Wonderful Life Mickey's Christmas Carol Grinch (the original animated) Snow (It is an ABC Family movie) - I'm 35 years old and like this movie White Christmas Nightmare Before Christmas (also good for Halloween) Love Actually

My Favorites:
Christmas Story Its a Wonderful Live Miracle on 34th Street (Natalie Wood version) How the Grinch stole Christmas (the animated version from the 60s) Mister Magoo's Christmas Carol The Shrek Christmas Special The Polar Express I haven't seen Elf, or the Veggie Tale Christmas stories. I will be sure to view them this season.

I love this list! I'm definitely going to write these all down! We have like 15 Christmas movies on DVD so we have some of the ones mentioned, but I think our holiday movie library will grow.
I don't think we have the Nightmare before Christmas, but it seems like a Halloween movie to me over a Christmas one. I love it anyways Polar Express is another good one, I can only watch it once a year but I think it makes a great Christmas Eve flick.

We have a drawer with just Holiday Movies! LOVE to watch them over and over again during December. . . and even before!
Our titles include: A Christmas Story The Happy Elf (music by Harry Conick Jr.) The Muppet Christmas Carol -we love this too Andrea! The Holiday The Santa Clause Santa Clause 2 Santa Clause 3 Trapped in Paradise White Christmas It's a Wonderful Life Scrooged -LOVE this!(not appropriate for small children) Home Alone Home Alone 2 Home Alone 3 Fred Claus The Polar Express Elf -my personal favorite! Christmas with the Kranks ead the book it's much better! (Skipping Christmas) Miracle on 34th Street- original Miracle on 34th Street emake Christmas Vacation -it wouldn't be the Holidays w/o Chevy Chase! The 12 dogs of Christmas How the Grinch Stole Christmas Gremlins -it makes our holiday shelf because he receives him as a Christmas gift! Grumpy Old Men Mr. Krueger's Christmas Joy to the World This was a family tradition in my husband's home. . . we've just continued to add movies each year to our collection!
