do you choose the photo and then the kit

do you choose the kit and then the photo?

Just curious.

And then you have the challenges that play into the mix...challenge, photo, kit or challenge, kit, photo lol....

I'm a photo first person..i at least have to have a couple in mind before I start my LO.

sometimes photo first but I find most of the time it is easier to do the layout then choose the photo.

I am normally a photo first gal. I have a list of pics/activities that I need to get scrapped. I just go down that list until something "speaks" to me. I grab the pictures and then start the search of a perfect kit.

I will say that the portfolio challenge also dictate which event I scrap. I am all about those points! LOL

Photo first unless it's a kit or product that wows me that I just have to use, so then I find a photo to match

I start with an idea, then go to the kit, then add the photos at the end, though 90% of the time I already have photos mentally picked out before I even start

I do almost all CT work, so it's kit first.

I usually scrap the whole layout first and then plug in photos. Sometimes, I will know which photos I'm going to use, but sometimes, I don't. I've found that I am much better at page composition when I place the photos last. Isn't that weird?! *shrug*

I mostly pick the photo out first. Unless its release day and I see a kit that I love love love. Then I'll find a photo that works with or take one.

it really really depends...I do a little of all the things you listed..just depends on what I am working on...

1. if it is for my P365 album I pick the pictures first, then the templates I want to use and then a kit that works well with all the pics

2. if I am doing CT work, alot of times I will work up the kit and then pick the pictures, but I norally have a mental note of what pictures I am gonna use...

3. and sometimes just the challenge inspires me and Iw ill normally do the challenges based on pictures that I have in mind I want to scrap...

so I suppose, it really jst depends on what I am working on

I would have to go with photo too ~ I will buy a kit because I have pics for it - ok thats not entirely true... for the most part I start with the pictures then the kit!

For my CT work, I start with the kit, but I find the photo that I want to use before I start the layout. So, even though the kit kind of determines which photo I use, the photo determines what I do with the layout.

For challenges and other layouts, I choose photos first usually and then go looking for the right kit.

I choose the photo first, then the kit. Although I have bought a kit just because I love it and then take a photo so I can use it! Some of the kits are just too gorgeous to pass up!

For challenges, I pick a challenge, and then I pick the photo or photos that go with it, then scrap, but, I always put my photos into my layouts last.

For CT, I pick a photo that goes with the kit, although I've been known to scrap a page with a kit that actually doesn't go "with" it, either because I don't have a photo that suits or because I want to go a different direction.

For me, I always pick the photo first then find a kit that matches.

It depends...if it is for a CT then it's always kit first and then I go searching for pictures.

If it's for fun then it can go either way...sometimes I have a few pictures that I want to scrap and go looking for a kit to use.....or just the opposite. I have a kit that I have been dying to use and go searching for pictures!!!

Good question. I'm a little of everything. It really depends on when and where the inspiration hits me. For challenges, the theme comes first and I think about appropriate photos or kits that would work and go from there. I'd say most of the time, it's my photos that come first and I go from there.
