Default Seriously.

Next time I would prefer the doctor to say "Oh, high amounts of pain in your pelvic area are normal for someone your size. It's a good sign your pelvic bone is preparing for labor this time." And not say it like this "Oh, high amounts of pain in your pelvic area are normal for someone who is so teeny tiny like you. It's a good sign your pelvic bone is preparing for labor this time."

Yeah I'm being pissy. I'm pregnant, it's allowed.

I had symphisis pubis for both of my pregnancies. Reeaaaallly painful. I had to wear a pelvic brace from 4 months till delivery. I couldn't function without the brace. Ask your physio for one - they really do help.

Oh blah!

When I was pregnant with Ben, at his 37 week ultrasound (I had GD so I had more ultrasounds), they were like "OH MY!!! His head is measuring quite large!" - another thing not to say to a woman who will need to get that head out somehow!!

lol...Sara, yeah, that's not something I would want to hear either.

Trish, sometimes people don't think before they speak.

Umm, I don't get it. Your doctor called you "teeny tiny" and you're pissed? Don't most people LIKE to be called teeny tiny?

Ugh...I know how you feel. I've always been small. I've heard lots of things like "gain some weight", "you look like a 12 year old" etc... I learned to eventually just to brush it off. As a young person in my 20's I think it really damaged my self image and I spent most of my young adulthood trying to not look feminine.

Then when I got into my 40's the tables then were turned! Now I'm proud of who I am and can feel and look beautiful outside too!

Most of the time no one is trying to be mean...it just comes out wrong.

My best advice is "To heck with everyone else...just be yourself!!"

So sorry!

I am NOT teeny tiny....5'8 and gained over 80 lbs with my 4th pregnancy. I have SEVERE pelvic pain with the last one...I felt like I was cut in two...I was in pain to just roll over or get out of bed, put on pants, etc.....I couldn't move my leg without crying...let alone walk up the stairs. I was on bedrest for the last 10 weeks......My doctor said that it was because my body knew just want to do to prepare for birth...I would have loved if they would have told me it was b/c I was teeny tiny.....and not the fat blimp I had become! LOL

No seriously...I am so sorry you have to deal with this. Pregnancy hormones are vicious!!!!

That's what I was thinking. I'd definitely be offended if I got "... for a person as large as you ...}, but probably not so much if I was described as teeny tiny or any derivative of that phrase, lol.
