Default Help from all you Cooks out there!

Okay I know a lot of you are big into cooking and food, etc. I need some help for DH. I'm moving in two weeks and DH will have my two girls all by himself during the week and I will hopefully be coming home a lot of weekends. It's for a new job. The past year I have basically stayed home with my girls and I do all the cooking. I can't bear the thought of my family living on frozen food and takeout during the week. So hook me up with some simple and easy meals he can put together.

Some Details: He is seriously oven impaired. The last time I left him alone at the house for a few days, he burned pizza twice. The first time just a bit, but the second time, he put the pizza and fell asleep for the night. woke up in the morning and remembered the pizza which had been reduced to charcoal. He doesn't eat seafood or turkey. My girls are 4 and 2 and pretty easygoing when it comes to food. We also have two crockpots.

Help me please!

my family likes this and its easy! Open pour and turn on the crockpot!
Chicken Taco Soup

beef roast - put in crockpot, put one package of onion soup mix and can of cream of mushroom soup and little bit of water

tater tot casserole- brown meat, add onions, green peppers, green beans, corn or whatever you want for veggies, 2 cans of cream of mushroom soup. put mixture of meat and veggies on bottom of pan, put on tater tots and bake until golden brown (I usually add some cheese to the mixture as well too)

I actually thought about that and I might do a few but he might forget they are there (he is really smart but sometimes oblivious and easily distracted). And right now I don't have a ton of freezer space. We have a side by side fridge. I need some stuff that he can do that is not frozen.

Yeah, I'd premake some meals for him and freeze them. Then put an inventory and directions on the fridge/freezer for him. I don't know though... if he's really that forgetful when it comes to kitchen stuff, you may be better off just leaving him the number for a pizza place.

Just saw your post -- Lunch meats for sandwiches, canned soups and pasta. Not the healthiest, but it's edible and hard to ruin.

If he would set a timer we would be golden. When he focuses he can accomplish so much, problem is when he gets distracted, he completely forgets about what he was doing before. I will definitely be freezing some stuff.

If he can grill, you can always have him grill a meat and serve it with side dishes that he can nuke, like veggies, or fresh fruits or something? I know my dh loves to grill too
