Default ISO - kits to scrap 1970's photos

My father-in-law told me that I could keep all the photo albums from my hubby's childhood over ten years ago... and now my father-in-law wants his albums back... ugh. So, I'm frantically scanning and of course I need to scrap them.

Has anyone scrapped this kind of project... photos from childhood? What design did you use? What would be good kits for the 1970's and 80's?

Thanks!

Hmmm...that is a tough one, Rebecca!

Here are a few that came to mind for more "retro-ish" photos:

If you happen to have this in your stash, it's one of my faves for older photos because of the colors. Go Wild by Julie Billingsley

I also scrapped this page of me in the 1970s. Kit is also retired.

I would be naturally drawn to fall/autumn kits because the oranges, yellows and browns of the 70s are usually in the same kit. Kits like these. I would just leave out the themey items:

Lots of Neutral, Rich and Earthy things in my shoppe that I think would help

Shame about the albums, so sorry to hear that

Pretty colours yes but lots of stamps and lovely neutral papers and tabs in this kit

(one of all time favourites, there is so much delicious texture here it's created some of my most fave layouts)

Thanks for the suggestions, ladies!!

Ooh, Rachel - I think your style will be perfect with these photos - and since I only have a few photos from each event, your templates will make quick work with these albums!

Oh, yes... Rachel's kits are perfect!!!

I was going to add that perhaps going for the color in your photos... and matching that more than theme (the 70's or the 80's, etc.) would be nice. Lots of colors might work, don't feel like you have to use mustard yellow and avocado green . Perhaps just grab a bunch of kits with a bunch of family/memories based wordy bits?

These came to mind... many would mix well with some of the other suggestions:

Colours for 70's brown orange green purple

Colours for 80's in your face bright and neon, alternatively black, grey, red and white combo was popular 80's too (I'm in the UK though).

And of course Star Wars!
