Default photos off an damaged SD card?

Anyone have success with this? Which software did you use to get it to download? I'm just sick.... I have like a month of photos on that card. Stupid me for not getting to download faster - but my hard drive has been full and have been trying to get that cleaned up so I can get my photos off...

I have PC win7...

thanks much!

Not sure how it will work for a damaged disk, but you could check out Recuva: http://www.piriform.com/recuva or Pandora: http://www.pandorarecovery.com/

Another possibility: http://digital-photography-school.co...amaged-sd-card

I used ZAR. It's one of the only ones I found that didn't ask for money to recover the files. It is a demo version, but you can restore up to 4 folders of images for free. I've had it for a couple of years and already had to use it 3 times, worked like a charm. Something that I learned is to always format your SD card through your camera, and NOT through your computer. Since I do that, I haven't had any disk failures anymore!

Thanks - I'll check these out! I've never had a failure before and I always reformat the card through the camera instead of just erasing it... and the card is only 8 mon old! sigh... I sure hope I can get photos off of it!

I used the recuva one too before and had very good success with it. I was anxious as it had photos from my dd when she was a baby and it was my only copy. good luck - I hope it works for you!

The Recuva is the best!!! I shot a wedding with my sister and she said....don't delete these photos. What is the first thing I did???? I deleted them. Not only were we able to recover the wedding photos, but it recovered TONS of other stuff that had been deleted and written over numerous times. It was craaaazy!!!! Good luck!!!

Ug! I have heard wayyy too many stories of this happening. At least there are lots of options to try, and people do have success recovering this kind of thing. I used to use my cards until they were pretty full before uploading, but now I seriously upload every day (unless I didn't use my camera). Even if I take just a few shots, I upload.

Well... so far no success... I can't get the laptop to recognize that there is a SD in the drive... so not sure what to do now... I hope hubby can fix it!!!

Does your camera recognize the SD card? Maybe if you connect your camera to your pc with a cable, it will work? Crossing my fingers for you!
