Default Winter Storm 2011 part deux

I woke up at about 2 am and saw we had about 1-2 inches of snow on the ground. Went to sleep on the couch....Russ came in to check the weather, peek outside, call his office and we measured - it's now about 3.5", and we're expecting MORE snow for at least a couple of hours.

Russ called in to work to see what the weather level was, and it's RED. They've not done a Red Level since he's worked there, and doesn't know if they've done one ever. Meaning - don't come to work! So Daddy gets to stay home and play in the snow! (and that means Mommy doesn't have to LOLOL )

Yeah...I heard we are expecting more snow to come UP from Texas. I'm officially tired of it. Haven't been out to check the mail since Monday...a foot of snow still on the ground (and a lot of cruddy roads too). And now we're getting more today...and possibly this weekend...and next week.
So much for going out for my birthday on Tuesday...this Texan doesn't drive in this mess! On the bright side, DH finally made it home after being standed in Springfield MO since Monday

Funny, we didn't get any last night. Still just our layers of ice here, I'm just praying it finally melts this weekend and the kiddos/hubby can go to school/work on Monday!

Enjoy your SNOW day with hubby home!

How cool for you, Darcy! Having Daddy home all day means Mommy can play with scrappy stuff - WOOHOO! Meanwhile, we got a couple more inches, too & the snow's still falling (lightly) here.

This is us, so far. Dallas is at 5.1" officially, we're about an inch shy of that here, but it might depend on where you measure from LOL

Wow Darcy you are braver than me to get out and measure. I wish we had this white stuff all week but at least today the boys can get outside. My DH is home too after driving all night from Houston in it. I can't believe they're predicting more next week too?

Stacy - wish you were closer, my BD was Tuesday too and I'm still waiting
Especially for the UPS truck that was supposed to deliver my replacement Kindle Tuesday. You know it's bad when UPS can't get here.

LOL my DH works for FedEx...so I know. Delivery drivers will get there when they can...but if they want to drive safely in this mess they really need at least 2 lanes open each way.

Only about an inch here in Central Texas, but it's enough to call a Snow Day. What a weird winter!

No snow here. But there is plenty of ice. The boys were so disappointed that there wasn't snow. I told them that ice is more fun. We gave them some picks (tent stakes) and told them they needed to break up all the ice in the yard. Kept them busy for an hour. LOL! Hopefully it will all refreeze so I can send them out to do it again.

That's how we Texans feel! It's nice to have snow after three days of just ice everywhere.

LOL... us here is the SF Bay area too.... maybe a dusting on the hills every once in awhile, but I don't remember having enough to actually play in since 1975!!! (yes, I KNOW I am dating myself!)

Kind of wish we had a little too!

It snowed here too! Last February we got snow but we didn't think it'd happen again just a year later! Of course, since we don't have any equipment to deal with this weather, just 2 inches has us out for a snow day. My husband is working for home thankfully too.

The kids played in it for an hour before needed to defrost! Gotta play in it again while we can before it melts.

i AM SOO sick of snow!!! We've had FIVE snowstorms this season so far, and we're supposed to get another one tomorrow and another one tuesday. Each storm drops at least 8 inches of snow at a time, we currently have at least 3 feet of it on the ground.
The kids have to make up soo many snow days this summer, they'll be in school until the end of June. I want spring NOW!
