Default They moved!

The scales. Finally! I took Meg's advice of eating like I wanted for a few days, cause that just sounded like more fun than cutting calories again. 2 pounds off there since I asked. Thanks for the suggestions!

Weird question- I did this last month too. For almost 2 weeks the scales wouldn't budge, right around the whole monthly visitor thing. Wondering if this is going to be a pattern?

yes, you always retain water right before AF and right before you ovulate, so the scales usually don't budge then but you'll see the results the following week. Also, it's good to trick you body... always being strict with your calorie intake often has an adverse effect on the way your body metabolizes... it's best to trick your body with some splurge days... I was always strict during the weekdays and splurged (in moderation, of course) during the weekends.

Congrats on the weight loss and getting the scales to move again!

yay!! I know when it is that time of the month everything starts feeling a little tighter. They say to avoid salt & caffine and it is supposed to help with water retention but it never does me. Plus Im the oddball who craves salty foods right before my period. Everyone else I know craves sweets/chocolates.

You're not alone! I thought it was me who was alone in this. I crave salty, too, before my period. Each time I tell myself, you know it's just hormones, you can refrain from eating those Crunchips, but no, when the time comes, I have to. :-) Usually, when I spend the evening by being super-grumpy, crying and stuffing myself with chips, I know what arrives next day.

weeeeeeee Congrats!

Last season on the Biggest Loser when I think it was Koli that ate all that food to win immunity and still pulled a large # at weigh in..anyways I read an article from a past contestant after that episode and they said they had 1 day where they ate over their regular caloric intake just to kinda refuel their body and not have it get used to the limited calories.
