As promised, here's a closer look at each of this month's challenges including one incredible sample page from our Babes to get your wheels turning! We hope you really embrace the spirit of these challenges and push yourself to get creative and have fun with them!

As you work through completing this month's challenges, we hope you'll share your layouts and ideas here. SugarBabe Loni said it best back in the day...

We encourage all community members and SSD staff to add their own layouts to this thread, in an effort to provide further creativity, inventiveness, innovation, ingenuity, imagination, and originality for everyone to experience and enjoy.

Puzzling - Cut a photo or your background paper into “puzzle-like” shapes and reassemble creatively. Consider leaving pieces out of place or missing entirely to fit the theme of your page or journaling.

Reading - Start your journaling with “Once upon a time…” and end with “...and they lived happily ever after.”

Audiophile - Use a song title as your page title and build around its theme.

kristal_lo.jpg

Gaming - Create a "game over" page to document a moment of failure or learning from a setback. Alternatively, create a "level-up" themed page to celebrate a personal accomplishment or goal achieved in your life

Hiking / Outdoors - Use a map or trail diagram as part of your background, with dotted lines or arrows indicating a path you took on your journey. You can even mark spots of interest along the “trail” with small photos or journaling notes. Think about using handwritten fonts to give the feel of a travel journal.

Gardening - Create a heavily layered page inspired by the abundance of a garden. Fill it with elements like flowers, gardening gloves, seed packets, trowels, butterflies, bugs, and anything and everything you might find in your garden.

Fitness - Design a dynamic page that plays with movement: use lines, arrows, or swirls to convey energy and photographs showing people or objects in motion.

Sewing - Create a patchwork-style background using a variety of patterned papers and “stitch” them together for a faux handmade look.

Photography - Create your own “contact sheet” of photos and use it on a monochromatic black and white page.

Collecting - Photograph your collection in a single photo inspired by Jim Golden and then scrap it.

Painting - Use the color wheel to inspire the color palette of your next page. Think about using primary, secondary or tertiary colors, warm or cool colors, complementary colors, etc. So much can be learned from the color wheel.

Cooking / Baking - approach your layout as a “recipe card” with a photo, ingredients and steps for doing something. You can go literal and scrap your favorite recipe OR you could get creative and scrap your recipe for success, a recipe for the perfect vacation, the perfect scrapbook page, etc. Get creative.

Thrifting - Create a vintage-inspired page using distressed paper edges, ephemera, ticket stubs, fabric scraps, and retro-themed embellishments for a nostalgic, upcycled feel.

Stargazing - Design a page using deep blues, purples, and sparkly accents (like glitter or gems) to create a dreamy, celestial look. Think constellations, moon phases, and galaxies.

Writing - Journal a story using less than 10 words. Let your photos fill in the gaps.

Don't forget! We'll be choosing one chatty scrapper who takes part in this thread to win a $20 gift certificate to the shoppe too! It's our way of saying thank you for making our community sweet

I love this months challenges. I did painting, using elements from lots of different kits to match the colour scheme.

Collecting - Photograph your collection in a single photo inspired by Jim Golden and then scrap it.

I have not started with any layouts for the passport yet! Hoping to grab some new goodies over the NSD weekend! But will be sharing soon!

Now that NSD is slowing coming to a close, I can really get started on the passport! Loving all the pages I see so far!

Writing - tell a story in less than 10 words. Wasn't sure if this included word art, but I erred on the side of caution and included them. There were so many more word arts I could have added though.
