One of my favorite parts of Christmas are the yummy cookies :) It wouldn't be Christmas without a variety platter of cookies. I typically do about 6 different kinds of cookies, these are the ones I've decided on this year-
peanut kisses
Norwegian snowballs
sugar cookie balls
no bake cookies
oatmeal raisin
gingerbread men

What about all of you? Do you enjoy making cookies for Christmas? How many types of cookies do you make and which kinds?

I hate baking... :) So, I did put no baking... I'll probably do a batch of cutout sugar cookies with kiddo.

I'm one of the world's worst bakers, so I don't make any. Andrew bought me a KitchenAid for my birthday though, so he said he expects at least one or two types of cookies this year. I'd better make sure our dental insurance is in place!

I love Christmas baking :) I usually make a different kind of cookie every few days in December, and then make a few different kinds Christmas Eve Day.

This year these are my plan so far -
Ginger Cookies w/ White Chocolate
Reindeer Peanut Butter Cookes
Shortbread with Cherries
Sugar Cookies (we decorate them as a family)
Snowball Cookies

 I really should do a follow up page from the one I did with your pictures a couple years ago, Julie! I <3 my mixer--we call it The Sexy Beast. :D

I bake 7+ kinds of cookies for Christmas - my family looks forward to them and Cheyanne gives them to her teachers and coaches for Christmas. I start baking them in November and freeze them.

Zimsterne
Lebkuchen
Pfeffernusse
Hawaiian Snowballs
Chocolate Pecan Snowballs
PB Kiss Cookies
Peppermint Meringues
Sugar Cookies
Chocolate Walnut Biscotti
Hazelnut/Ginger/Chocolate Chip Biscotti
Mexican Hot Chocolate Cookies
Cream Cheese Cookies with Apricot Jam

None. I never feel like I have the time to do it, and instead of stressing myself out over not being Martha Stewart and having fresh baked goodies in the house, I give myself a pass.

We bake throughout the month and then about a week before Christmas we have a huge baking day with my mom & make cookies/candys/sweets/snacks. all day long.

I pretty much only bake cookies if I have to take them somewhere. We'll probably do a batch of cutout sugar cookies at some point but that's about it. We're not big cookie-eaters so I guess that's why I don't make many?

I will do several kinds, maybe more than 7, but i put 4-6.

I bake for my neighbors & the kids teachers, plus we do a cookie exchange at my Mil's house, we started it the first year we were back in Michigan.

I haven't decided on kinds yet except for sugar & gingerbread for Santa, that we decorate, but i bought the dough for those. Lol!

I made Molasse for thw cookie exchange, its tomorrow night.

I plan on baking something, but it won't be a ton. For some reason, hubby and I are terrible about eating leftover baked goods. I had to throw almost an entire pie out last week because we NEVER finish off sweats before they go bad... So I will probably make a few things to bring to the office Christmas party and a few things for family get togethers, but that's it.

I love baking, so Christmas is a good pretext for doing it. Normally I can't bake because I avoid sugar for health reasons, but during Christmas I can give it others, so there.

This year I'd like to do about 7 types of goodies (I wouldn't call them cookies, but I'm not sure if my definition of cookies is the same as yours) that you never heard of, so I won't name them. That's about the number I do every year. About 5 are ones I do every year, and about 2 are usually some new ones to freshen things up.

ETA: OK, I got it now. Cookies are what I thought them to be. In that case, I make zero, not 7+. :o)

mine is different every year but I voted 7+ for this year! this year we are making:

Peanut butter reindeer cookies
Gingerbread reindeer cookies
peanut butter blossoms
sugar cookies
7 layer cookies
peppermint patties
Cream cheese and sugar mints

I am not a huge baker but this is the time when I tend to do 1-3 types of cookies. Sugar cookie w/ the kiddos, chocolate chip, Oatmeal Raisin and maybe some no bakes. I don't get too fancy with them but we definitely have them. :)

I love baking & this time of year gives me an excuse to make LOTS of cookies & then have lots of people over to eat them for out NYE party. :)

I make double cocoa cookies, peppermint cocoa cookies, sugar cookies (with another family), gingerbread cookies, peanut butter cup cookies, spiral cookies and peppermint bark. Plus sometimes I manage cake balls, probably not this year.

DH & I make fudge every year for gift giving and this year the boys and I will be making chocolate dipped & decorated pretzels as gifts for their friends.

normally I'm too "busy" shopping and going going going. Since money is so tight this year I've made up my mind to slow down and DO more stuff like this instead of just think about it like I always do. We are having a cookie baking day with my best friend on saturday and since there will be kids involved, more than likely we will do cutout sugar cookies, but I've been cruising pinterest all morning , when I SHOULD have been working, so I have a couple other ideas. If you are stumped for ideas go to Nikki's pinterest page...wowza!!! lol

p.s. Julie Julie Julie...we are so bad. WE NEED to change our siggies! LOL

I'm including candy and treats in my answer as about the only kind of cookies that I personally plan on making is cut out gingerbread.

Otherwise I make homemade caramels, chocolate-covered pretzels, white chocolate party mix, and usually something new, which I haven't yet decided on yet. :)

I do a baking day with my friends and we all exchange so that's where most of my other cookies come from.

Already made chocolate chip cheesecake balls for a party.

We usually make my Granny's tea cake recipe, and cut them into gingerbread men shapes. Grandma's apricot balls are another family tradition, but not sure if I'll do them this year...hubby's not a big fan of them.
Sand tarts, or possibly shortbread with apricot jam.
Something with chocolate...not sure yet what kind of cookie yet though.
And this year we're going to try out a caramel apple cookie recipe that I saw on Pinterest.

I usually make a batch of sugar cookies, and that's it for cookies. I like to make lots of goodies during the holidays, just not lots of cookies. I'm going to try an almond roca recipe this year. I almost always make some mint oreo truffles.

I love to bake!!! My recipes are at home, but I usually do choc covered pretzel rods, reindeer noses, snowballs, sugar cookies, chocolate peppermint kisses, andes mint cookies and a couple others. This year I want to try those reindeer ones.

I bake every year -- we call it baking day and I just go all out. Take a tray to my family, a tray to my husband's family, and then stock the freezer here. Trying to get it under control this year. We're doing:

Peanut clusters
M&M Dream Bars
Hello Dollies
Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bars
I'll have to do Sugar Cookies because my wonderful [/sarcasm] mom gave my daughter a cookie decorating kit. I despise making sugar cookies.
White Chocolate Party Mix
Pumpkin Snickerdoodles
Peanut Butter Kiss cookies

I usually do one or two huge batches of chocolate chip cookies as well. One with oatmeal and one without. I'm not going to do that this year.

Really. I'm not.

I always do Sugar cookie cut outs that we decorate with colored icing, peanut butter, chocolate chip, white chocolate macadamia nut, wedding cookies, and strawberry cake cookies. This year I also made chocolate/peanut butter sandwich cookies, and I'm going to make candy cane blossoms. I also made some super yummy mini oreo cheesecakes.

I promised a friend a batch of peanut butter kisses, so I will make those, but I don't do a ton of cookies.
