Project 52: Self-Portraits

Hey chickies,

I know it would technically be week 2 since it's the 7th, but would anyone be interested in doing a Project 52 of self-portraits with me this year?

Most of us don't take nearly enough pictures of ourselves and when we do we're often waaaay too critical of the flaws we see so we end up taking even fewer!

I think this should change and I want to challenge myself to take a self-portrait a week of myself in 2013 because I want layouts (or at least a collection of photos) like these of me...





So is anyone game to play along with me?

ME ME ME!!!!

I realized yesterday that I hardly have any pictures of me in last years's PL album so this year I want more pictures of me in the album and this would be motivation to make sure I at least take a pic every week even if I don't put it in my album

I would LOVE to do this!! I'm also trying to remember to get at least one shot of each of my kids each week.

I like updating one post so they are all together. Can someone tell me how to get my IG pics to my PC? I have them synced to my Dropbox, but it doesn't save them with the photo effects from IG.

Oh and I have a droid, not iphone.

I'm in... My husband got me a really awesome tripod for my birthday and I've been much better about being in the pictures, but this is always something I can improve on.

I'll add some of them into my PL pages if I can - I'm lucky on my camera that I have a swivel screen so i can look at the screen as I attempt to take the self portrait

I'm in! I think I'm going to try to include something in the photo that is an expression of me. Like I'm thinking definitely a photo of me scrapping something, because that is so me. : ) Or a pic of me diligently studying language...I'm overflowing with ideas now! Thanks for the inspiration!

Can I play along? I"m trying to do 52 family portraits (a picture every Sunday) for a year? It self-portrait becuase we use the tri-pod and a timer!

Who else is getting inspiration for their own photos by looking at the photos of others?

I just love that mostly dark, lit by computer screen photo - I have to try to get something like that this year <3 I also want to do some silly faces or something too because it's a personal hurdle of mine. I take them and I feel like I look completely ridiculous, but whenever I see them of other people, I absolutely LOVE them so I need to get over it!

I love Marla's too! I need to make sure I get some of myself NOT smiling. I will have to try to have some variety... like:
-no makeup
-a little boob showing
-profile
-not smiling
-from far away
-with my hair all crazy
-with DH
-drinking my coffee in the AM
-sitting at the computer
-making a silly face (love that idea)

I am making mental notes of the selfies I want to capture this year.

I know that at the end of January or February (or 20lbs gone) I'm going to 're-take' the boudior set from last year.

-with my camera
-with my kids
-a 'non-face' portrait
-with my guitar (I'm going to teach myself to play, I got it from my Granny before she went to live in heaven, 8 years ago)
-at the sewing machine
-studying
-in the kitchen

i would love to try to snap a few. last year i participated in a Photo Project of trying to get all 5 of us in a Photo and while I only got 5, I am in love with those 5!

I was afraid I'd be too late to join in because I never take self-portraits, but then realized I had been trying to be more intentional about it this year, and found at least one from each week of me on either my phone or my camera. Yay!

Those that are doing this - what will you do with the pictures? scrap 1 layout, several, 1 per week? etc. would love to hear how others will use this as a stepping stone to something else. '
I have been taking weekly pics as well since I"m pregnant right now so I would love to join in as well.

I plan on doing a 2-page spread with all of them. But, I might use them for all About Me pages throughout the year.

I haven't had a chance to scrap in the past couple of weeks, but I'll be using them for AAM or journaling LO's, maybe a progressive 2 pager at the end of the year, showing the journey of 2013.
