Look what I got!

I went to the thrift store today like I do almost every week (almost, not every week), just to see if there was anything that sparked my interest. Whether it's a project, an outfit, whatever. Well today I found this cordless (had been taken out) lamp base from Target, white of all things and I LOVE things that are white, matches my decor. Anyway, I bought it so that I could make a candle stick out of it. So then I headed to a different thrift store to see if I could find some nice hurricanes and I did, two in fact. I'm not sure which one to use yet but I can't wait to see it finished! LOVE doing stuff like this (like, on a regular basis, it's kind of an obsession). :wub:

Heck now I'm thinking I should show my little thrifty projects every week on here! That would be fun! (for me anyway LOL)
 
And next week I think I want to work on doing a Valentine backdrop and props to take really cute pictures of the kiddos. That should be fun! ;)
 
Yes - you might inspire me to actually do something instead of just thinking about it! :D
& yes, we totally need after pics! ;)
 
Oh, I adore thrift decorating!! I'm a big thrift hunter, too... haven't done it in a while, though... maybe tomorrow I'll check out Goodwill. ;)
 
Hehe, you guys are very encouraging!

Rebecca, my favorite thrift store in town is Goodwill because they get a lot of stuff from Target. :)
 
Update: This is the problem I am facing right now with the lamp base, trying to figure out how to remove the cable stick. Wondering if I can saw it off.

Thanks Brook! We have a sawzall that we just got actually and I am going to get the hubs to do it for me. Hopefully he won't actually damage it. LOL
 
I always buy things at the thrift store with every intention to do the projects but I have a workshop full of project parts. LOL One day...
 
I'd love to see more of your projects too. I like decorating with hurricanes. Can't wait to see what you do with those too.
