OLW for 2024

Have you given any thought to choosing one little WORD for 2024? If so, what is it?

I don't always participate in the selecting of a word, but this year I feel the word has picked me.

The year has already started with so many changes. I feel like I am having to ADAPT to a variety of different things. It is like my normal routine has been disrupted and I am having to punt at every turn.

The word ADAPT seems fitting - become adjusted to new conditions. Adjust, modify, change, amend, acclimate...seem to be my world right now.

I am in no way thrilled with all the changes but need to figure out how to roll with them and adapt.

How about you? Any thoughts for 2024?

Did you have a word in 2023? Did it seem to fit your year?

I have no OLW for this year yet, but I might ponder about it, now that you mention it.
I think I had one for 2023 but I forgot all about it as the months went by. 2023 was such a busy and restless year for our household that I am just happy that it is over without anything majorly negative.

2023 was such a game changer for me. I did not choose a word.
2024 - if I had to just pick one it would be GROWTH

I am doing HEAL this year. The year ended with a lot of hard, bad things and I want to heal myself this year.

Last year I did GRACE, I wanted to try not to be such a perfectionist and give myself & others grace. It was perfect.

My OLW this year is DETERMINED. I want to be intentional with my actions/words, but I also want to make decisions that help further my life goals.

I've selected TRANSFORM as my word for 2024.

I like to choose a word that applies to my life and goals in multiple ways, and "transform" really works for me - "to change completely the appearance or character of something or someone especially so that thing or person is improved; to change the nature, function, or condition of; convert."

This year, I'll be working to transform my thoughts, my relationships, my health, the way I spend my days ... so many things.

I would choose FREEDOM since I just retired.

Mine is progress. I've chosen words each year since 2010. I'm thrilled with my word this year. It is very fitting.

I chose calm ... that is not shaping up to be my year though (I broke my knee Jan 1 and now dealing with family illness)
