So I got the Cricut on black friday YAY right? I duno know? Im down to the last minute on making my 1st hybrid things here for gifts and I dont like it n e more haha I thought I would save myself time and glue my papers onto chipboard sheets and cut it out with the Cricut. That didnt turn out so well. Now I have wasted time and money what a rere I feel like. Onto the question though lol does anyone know of any good cutting machines that will also cut though the chipboard?

Sanku!

Well shoot I hope I didnt mess up my Circut with all the info Im finding on the web now  I just wanted to share so if anyone else was wondering too I found a blog that says Sizzix will cut through chipboard nicely so I will be looking more into it tomorrow when stores are open hehe

Oh, bummer about the Cricut. Yeah. It is kind of a touchy piece of equipment, if you ask me! I have one and I love it, but I think chipboard is a little too thick for it to handle. The Sizzix WILL cut chipboard nicely. I have used it for chipboard(up to medium weight, like coasters) and also plastic with no problem. Good luck.

I have both.

I have the big red sizzix and the big shot - both cut chipboard like a dream :D

The cricut won't but I have bought the deep cut housing and blade so that I can cut thicker stuff (still no chipboard though)

You need the deep cut housing and blades to cut chipboard with the Cricut. I use the regular blade to cut cracker and cereal boxes for shapes and it works fine. I would think you would have to cut the chipboard shape and then the paper to fit and adhere. I can see where it would be messy otherwise.

Also, remember that with the Sizzix you can't resize things to the size you want - you are stuck with the dies the way they are. So don't give up on your Circuit just yet - you just need to find yourself one of those deep cut housing blades and let us know how it works. (I've been wanting to get one myself!)
