Feeling Hot 4 Hybrid?

Its Wednesday again already - can you believe how quickly time is zipping by? - and that means its time for our regular Hot 4 Hybrid post!!

I have a cute children's party idea to share with you over on the Sweet Shoppe blog - so why not go and take a peek!

Enjoy!

How cute is that! My son is a major train freak, but I have to ask who is Casey Jones? Maybe I should google.

Ooops - obviously its my childhood Disney obsession showing! Casey Jr Train was the engine in the Dumbo movie, but the name comes from a real-life engine driver from the very early days of rail in the US, who died in a accident - he was very famous at the time apparently!

He was the only train driver I knew! ....I don't think Thomas the Tank Engine has a named driver!?! Has set of stories/ shows that reached the US?

lol..Dumbo is great, but I totally don't remember that movie enough to pick out names. I thought it might be a British cartoon. My son watches so many British cartoons that he will occasionally speak with a British accent and use British terms (then I have to tell him, in America we say this...lol). He loves Charlie & Lola, Thomas the Tank Engine & Chuggington (though on BBC, I am not sure its totally British).

Oh I l-o-v-e Charlie & Lola!! Unfortunately my son has decided he's too old to watch it (we're heading down the Dr Who cartoon route), but I do miss that show.... I love the idea of cloud hopping just like Lola :)

Such a great project! I wish I had discovered digital scrapping years ago, only lately have I realised what a great way it is to create party pieces.

I'm amazed by these. You all make it seem so simple.

Yet when I try to do something it looks HORRID.

Can you produce tutorials? Like step by step made for a total moron? :-D

If you have any of Heather's DIY Printable range, I promise the instructions are nice an easy to follow - but I'd be very happy to do a step-by-step photo tutorial on anything in particular you'd like to try, whether you want the train or even a party bag!

I'm happy to do something along the lines of this tutorial I did on Heather's blog for her Treasure Chest printable.

Have a think and let me know and I can put something together soon-ish. We're just coming to the end of our school term here in the UK, so it may not happen immediately, but definitely soon ;)

Please, anyone who wants to know how to make anything in more detail do feel free to shout! I promise all the HybridBabes will say the same - we love requests!

I went looking through the DIY templates and was thinking maybe of trying the basket. Or maybe one of the party packs (my kids birthdays are in june so an entire year to get it right, lol).

I also want to try cupcake wrappers.

But what I reallllllly want to be able to do is the learn to make a hybrid card. A nice one. But I am such a moron when it comes to this stuff.

We have it on right now. :) I got one of my designers to make a kit inspired by them just so I could scrap my son's love.

Alisa, have you seen any of the older Hot 4 Hybrid posts?

There are several step-by-step mini tutorials on the blog - plus you'll find quite a few on the individual designers blogs too. Its a nice way to see different styles of card making.

...and here's a proposition for you!!!:

I haven't planned my Hot 4 Hybrid post for August yet, so if there is a particular type of card (birthday, new home, sympathy etc), card size or even kit you're wanting to try - I'd be more than happy to come up with an idea or two, and do a nice step-by-step post about it!

If you'd prefer another HybridBabe's style - maybe I can charm/ volunteer/ persuade them to do a similar post :p

Feel free to reply here, or pm me if you like, and we'll take it from there together!
