March 2020: Passport FAQ

I'm starting to think and plan on making this a papers layout, but I might need more than a month, procrastination and all, hehe. But I also think that the kits I have has strings, I just need to open each folder one by one, and then I thought about that procrastination thing-y? :w00t::w00t:

Later thought it might have been easier to use the brush tool to stroke a line from one point to another (on it's own layer) then use a style on it or clip a fabric-y paper to it to make it look like string. Would have had to do that over and over (and over and over) lol for how many string pieces I had. So I don't know which method would have been easier.

You don't have to open them one by one!
Go to your big scrap folder and do a search in the search bar. Type in string. They should all pop up and you will be able to see their location.

Don't tell me that Loni, I didn't understand that way :crying: (blame I'm not english native LOL)

here's what you post : #12. Composition : Four Quandrants
In the spirit of four leaf clovers, split your page into 4 quandrants, then rotate 30 degrees and scrap!

So I literally divided mine in 4 parts (I even made my BG with 4 hearts like a clover LOL) and rotated 30 degrees and then scrapped, not that I scrapped and then rotated :crying::crying::crying::crying: And I don't think my page is gonna look good if I rotate everything buuuu I might add both options wdyt? :huh::huh::huh:

I started with stringnots, then the shoelaces and then stitiching, I think it looks like the examples I've seen so far in the gallery, well at least hope so :o:o
 
I'm having a hard time with the currently inventing one, haven't seen examples yet and I'm not inventing a squat LOL, maybe inventing excuses? LOL

I have started working on a heart background. Although that rectangle layout seems to be the easiest to achieve.
 
I was reading today's blog post and noticed Kendall's page which had a heart string art. Hmmmm..... a possibility?
 
I'm struggling finding string to use. I don't want to buy a whole kit for one element... am I overlooking any packs of JUST them?

for currently inventing, you could do a page of your son playing with legos or figures or something where he is using his imagination to "invent" a pretend world or characters? Maybe even playing a video game since you have to invent your own person or game to play?
 
For string, I did a search in my downloads and found just a couple straight pieces. I used one of those and just kept repeating it. Here's my layout:

You could maybe use a curly string and put a button where it curls back on itself? Repeat that a couple times and you may get the look of the string art?
 
For those struggling to find some straight string, have you considered cropping a straight ribbon so there's just a skinny edge left? Some ribbons have thicker/rolled edges, so once cropped they'd look like string. Then add a bevel and emboss to make it look rounded.

Kind of like this:

What about your insight to the COVI-19 situation? Your observations of the community/world, and how it's affected your own neighbourhood/family.

An insight to your kids development or your own growth over a period of time.
 
since I am back and alot of my kits are older and either retired or not in the shoppe.....can I use these kits to make my LO's? i.e. I have some old kits by KCB and Traci and Cindy and some old SSD collabs...just want to make sure before I use them :)
 
I have one challenge left........Pop Culture: String Art and am struggling big time with it!!

Thanks Char! Oh yes the lab ones were perfect!

I came up with something, think I was overthinking it. I just did a search for string in my SSD folder and found the perfect string which led to the kit, an idea for a page and it came together quite quickly :)

Yes you can use old and retired products, including old SSD collabs, as long as the designers are still selling here.

When I asked about who was considered new, they said any of the 4 mentioned above.
