Memorial Day/Weekend plans?

I'm just curious what everyone's holiday weekend plans are? Feel free to share your weekend plans if you're not in the US & don't have the Monday holiday! ;)

Memorial Weekend is always our first hoorah out at my in-law's lake house. The weather is hit or miss so most of the time, we're just doing some yard/beach work and getting the house ready for summer. This year, they are building a new garage, so our major to-do this weekend is to tear down the old small garage- not fun but hard work! It is supposed to be in the 80's on Saturday- so I'm assuming the boat & wave-runners will get put into the water- even if the water is WAY cold. The teenagers don't care! lol

We're hoping to actually start working in the yard to get things prepped for Cooper's grad party in a couple weeks, but it's looking like rain Saturday and Sunday. We froze at graduation last night. I think we can at least work on getting the garage prepped if it's not cooperating outside.

Sean got the pool all opened up, but it's been too chilly with the except of last Sunday & Monday.

We did our yard work mostly last weekend getting ready for our grad party- but had crazy weird storms, then sun- so it was a lot of "quick- let's weed while it's not hailing" ;) Hopefully we'll just have to mow one more time & maybe some light weeding. Our May/June is so crazy too. Hopefully our graduation (6/6) & party (6/7) have decent weather.

Well, we are supposed to go to my aunt's to grill and swim like we do every year, but it looks like it will be raining so I don't know if those plans are still on or not.

It's predicted T-storms tomorrow and rain on Sunday, so I'll probably do a cook-in with steak and corn on Sunday. I'm hoping to get to the amusement park for the first time on Monday. I would like to get some use out of my drink pass. There are so many sugar free options in those machines that I want to try.

His is the 13th, so we have a couple weeks, but our youngest has soccer every other weekend until then, this is our only completely free weekend. Ugh! We'll get there.

We're supposed to go shopping on either Sunday or Monday at some of our favorite local antique malls/stores and thrift stores. We means Jay and my sister Anna, and possibly Olivia and Shannon.

Saturday I'll go get a pedicure. After that is a baby shower for my first cousin's youngest son and his wife at 4 pm who are expecting their first child. I don't know how that's going to go because it's outside at a local playground/park and it's forecasted for thunderstorms at that time.

Jay has been working in our yard all this week as well as doing projects inside the house in the evenings after work. He has two push mowers, so with both him and Daniel mowing, that was finished in no time and left him time to move some plants around and do other trimming, as well as washing the front eaves and side of the house. Jay and Daniel are also working on a project to start sound-proofing Daniel's room. I think they'll likely finish that up tonight.

Jay's ready to get our patriotic decor out and onto the front porch so I'll do that with him and then I'll do the inside decor. That will stay up for Memorial Day and through the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. After that, I'll switch out to my beach themed decor that will stay up until I get my fall decor out. So I'll be working on the porch as weather permits.

Temps over 90 and thunderstorms Sat/Sun means we're staying inside. I have some scrapping I could be doing but I just haven't hit on the inspiration yet (probably because my child looks pained in all the photos). Husband thinks a lot of people will be at the movies on Monday or I'd consider asking my mom to watch the kiddo so we can have a matinee date.

Not sure about the weather here either, but we traditionally spend Memorial Day at a close friend’s house. She’s hosted for the past… four or five years now?! They have a water slide for the kids, a trampoline, and a creek in the back woods for them to explore. We usually start the morning with bagels and do sandwiches or BBQ for lunch and leave in the late evening.

There were five families in our little pod, but one has since moved away and we’ve added a couple more families that were close with. So I think it’ll be like twelve kids and us grownups. We’ve known many of them since the boys were babies and the kids act more like cousins- which is a blessing and a curse!

I have a graduation open house to go to today, and tomorrow I'm putting my son on a plane to go to his summer internship for the whole summer. I am so excited for him, but so sad for me. I have no summer buddy for all the musicals we have here in the summer. Monday, I have a pedicure and massage to help me feel better.

We are not in the US but we do have a holiday weekend/monday we have pentecost weekend.
Sunday we are going to my brother in law all the way to the other side of the country.

And Monday we want to go away as a family to do some fun things, but we haven;t figured out what yet, but at the end of the day we go having a BBQ

Weather is dreary today (rained earlier but cloudy now) and will be rainy tomorrow. Monday might be the only good weather day. I usually spend the day on Sunday watching racing, both the Indy 500 and Coco-Cola 600. Although both could be delayed or postponed due to weather. If I get to watch, I'll probably do some cross stitching.

Even though Monday is a holiday, my cleaning lady is coming to clean. Last Monday of the month is her normal day that she usually pushes to Tuesday in May but her husband has a doctor post surgery follow-up on Tuesday so she asked if she could come on Monday. No problem for me!

Thanks to the cold & rain, nothing but hanging out inside and trying new Ninja Creami recipes. Was looking forward to getting into our pool but that's going to have to wait until next week. What's wild is that we had 90 degree weather last week!

I would have loved to do something but I have a nursing shift on Monday so it tied me down. I had a bridal shower to attend yesterday out of town (about 2 hour drive each way) for my niece and had to take my mother to it since she is "old" lol. I guess every weekend, nor every holiday - can be a party. Sometimes you have to do adult things.

I'm finishing up packing and heading out for a 12 day photography tour in Newfoundland. All my gear is packed and ready to go. I have no room for clothes in my carryon so hopefully my checkin luggage makes it b/c otherwise I'll be wearing the same outfit for 2 wks LOL. I'm layering for the airport though just in case something happens - undershirt, tee, flannel, vest, hat and raincoat to wear onto the plane.

We're doing something between nothing and zilch. Although we finally plugged in all the electronics in our office after having new carpets installed in the house in April. I do believe my original desktop computer is quite dead.

Tod is outside right now doing some yard work. I am playing around with my new negative scanner and scanning old photos onto my computer to scrap with!

We just got home from the lake (it's only a half hour drive for us!) We lucked out with great weather this whole weekend! It was hard to yell at the kids to come back in & trailer up the jet skis at 1pm today! They are crazy- the water is SO cold, but again- teenagers don't care! Oh & we also got half the roof & most of the inside of the old garage torn down- so productive weekend for us. Now starting all the laundry!
