Description: Our baby girl is getting so old! She can already say her letters-both upper and lower-and she can identify numbers to 20. She is consistently using 4-word sentences too! She still loves books puzzles-she now likes to stack toys too. We continue to explore the world of color, paint, and playdough. If she had her choice, she would go outside and play in the water. And of course, she is currently in love with The Wiggles-anything!

Description: March 1st 2009-So the last few days we have had gorgeous weather. Today, it hit about 80 degrees at about 9:30am, so we put on some sunscreen and our sandals and went out to the backyard to do some yard work. I got to pick up dog poop (lucky me) while Chris installed the next part of the drip system to the new flowers we bought a few weeks ago (this is like the 3rd time we have done this due to the dogs digging). Then, we went to Home Depot for some lawn items, and went back outside after nap. Macy loves being outside-especially when daddy is out there too. She helps him shovel dirt (with her little gardening tools we bought her for Christmas) and she LOVES to help me water the plants-so she can get wet and stomp in the mud puddles. Week 3

Description: This week was super long. Of course I went to Starbucks about four times. On Tuesday, Chris left for Spokane and Macy and I made a new pasta dish. Wednesday Macy and I went to Pita Jungle, a new health food restaurant-very tasty. Thursday, Chris's flight was cancelled, so I needed retail therapy and bought Macy some new outfits. We ate at Pholicious. I ended up taking the day off too to scrap. Friday, it was back to work with folders to grade over the weekend. Saturday, Macy and I went to Busy Bodies and then to Cracker Barrel for some apple pie. Any time the word apple comes up, all we hear about is "apple pie apple pie!" Chris finally came home on Saturday. Sunday we went grocery shopping (finally) and then on a hike to the White Tanks down the road. I was supposed to grade folders, but I didn't. I keep forgetting to take my camera with me when I go places, so I have to stick in replacements, until I get those pictures (hence the starbucks logo, plane, and apple pie).

Description: In January, we decided to go on a hike to the white Tank Mountains for a small hike. Both Macy and I had been cooped up in the house, and Chris needed some family time, so off we went. It ended up only being a half hour, since Macy is so little, but she had fun, we think. We stopped alot to inspect rocks, comment on the different cacti (and touch one), pet some dogs, throw some sand, and then take a water break and pose for some pictures. Afterwards, we played at the playground by the trailhead. Not bad for a first hike!

Columbia Seminar

Description: At the end of our seminar, everyone gathered on the steps outside of the hall for a picture. Of course, most everyone had a camera, so we were there awhile snapping pictures as a group, with each other, and with the professors. Over the course of the week, I think we all left a little inspired (and tired). We had learned alot about The Great Depression and the War, plus, we learned about one another and what we do as teachers to help kids learn. It was neat to see that although we were from different parts of the country, we all had the same purpose. To teach kids to the best of our abilities. Afterwards, we got together at a trendy bar a few blocks down from Columbia, and proceeded to get tipsy.

3 Wheelin' Tomboy

Description: Here I am on my 3 wheeler that Dad bought for me when I was about ten. He loves motorcycles-all kinds. He used to race them and was pretty good, and nowadays (2009) he fixes them up and rides them or sells them for fun money. So, as he loves them, he figured I would too. For awhile, we would ride around our house and on the old country roads and it was no big deal. Then, one day, I was riding on the back of his 3 wheeler and we were on this really bumpy trail with a bunch of roots, and all the sudden our bike went into the air and tipped up. I landed flat on my back on the ground, then Dad landed on me, and then the bike tipped up and started crashing down on us. Dad fought to kick it off, and it took a bit, but he did. I was so scared-bawling my head off. I remember it being really loud, and my back hurt pretty bad after that. Then, we were camping up at Browns Creek (Olympic Mountains, WA) and I took the bike up this big rock hill and then got scared, and about tipped it trying to come down. I got scared again, but instead of trying to come down, I cried and screamed midway up the hill. My mom got mad because dad refused to help me get down. He kept telling me I was fine, and I would figure out how to get down. I did, about a half hour later, but I never rode that thing again. Now, Chris just got his motorcycle license, and he is itching to buy a bike. I, of course, am totally against motorcycles unless they go 20 miles and hour or less, so I always say a big fat "NO"!

Week Two (Jan 5-11)

Description: So, this week was rough getting back into the groove at school. It was the first week back after break, so I REALLY needed some Starbucks. But, on Monday I forgot my wallet. Very typical for me. I drive without a license quite often-been doing it since high school. On Tuesday, I began a new book (Night of the Loving Dead)-cute mystery series. By Wednesday, I think I had been to Starbucks three times. I tried their new London Fog tea latte (didn't like it). On Thursday, I spent a few hours scrapping at night after work. Friday, I took a professional day and researched Bisbee for my grant project in downtown Phoenix, but I forgot to take the camera, so I inserted a picture of Bisbee instead. On Saturday, Macy and I went to the zoo since Chris had to work. Sunday morning Macy and I went to the mall to visit William's and Sonoma for a filled pancake pan. They were out (bummer). I will have to order it online. But, she got a new pair of shoes. I also saw two movies-Gran Turino-AWESOME-and The Curious Case of Benjamin Buttons. Very good. of shoes (she wears size 7 wide now)!

Description: On Jan. 10th, I decided to take Macy to the Wild Animal Park down the road from our house since Chris had to work. They just opened up their new aquarium exhibit with sea horses! It was chilly, but we had fun. We went to the petting zoo this time, and the animals kept trying to knock Macy over for her food. She had fun feeding the baby goats and deer. Unfortunately, she did not take a nap later in the afternoon, so she was quite fussy in the evening. I tried to keep her busy by coloring and going outside, and that seemed to do the trick (mostly).

Cake and Ice Cream

Description: My daughter's first birthday- After everyone finished eating, people sat around visiting for a little bit before we took Macy to the table up front to open her presents. She got quite the haul. She received lots of books, a push car with some toys inside, a car to scoot around the house on, some clothes, a quilt from Mimi, and some hand toys. Then, Makai brought the cakes out. She made one special for Macy (a pink daisy) which was SO cute! The other was a general cake for everyone else. We sang happy birthday, and the kids helped Macy blow out her candle. Then, everyone sat down for some cake and ice cream. Macy pigged out and ate all of her piece!
