Don't Ask Me What's for Dinner

Description: Journaling: I probably have the cleanest stove in my apartment complex. I'm sure when the cleaning team comes in once a month to do their thing, they must have some thoughts about it and the obviously empty shelves in my fridge. But the truth is I HATE TO COOK. Didn't like it as a kid, when I had to stand at mom's elbow and watch her put together dinner, or listen to her instructions. Maybe because it was more like Greek to me than fun. 1/4 this or 1/2 that. Pinch of this, scoop of that. It just didn't compute. Then I really had a tough time in high-school - back then girls always took Home Ec - which required cooking. And college compounded it, since my major again was a version of Home Ec. I made a C in the class related to cooking (Food & Nutrition) which certainly didn't help my GPA. I actually burned the pan when boiling water for eggs. UGH. My attitude didn't improve after college and marriage. Family demands and work seemed to always have me scrambling to get dinner on the table as quick as possible after getting home from work. I tried to find shortcuts that were appetizing and healthy, but then seemed to get into a rut really quick. Once the kids got big enough to help, I let them take over this chore. Miranda seemed to enjoy it most, she knew how to adapt recipes to what we had on hand, and was always trying something new. Don't know where she got it from, cause it wasn't my influence. These days, since it is only me to worry about, I rarely cook dinner. I will eat good at lunch, as I tend to be with a client or at the office. So my meals at night are hardly ever about dinner. More like light snacking. Cheese/fruit/wine is one favorite. Cereal and milk is another. Salad from Jason's or Souper Salad makes an easy alternative as well. And generally the portion size is so big, I can have seconds the next day. I've been known to create an awesome spread for a grand dinner party, but I just don't see the point anymore, when it is only me these days. Description: I've had this little embellishment box forever it seems. Originally, chipboard letters came in this box - they've since been used up! You can see that I've been storing little nothings in it (now put away or thrown away). The back of the box even suggests turning it into a keepsake box! I covered the top and bottom with plain digi paper, then printed the embellies from a kit and mounted the printed paper on cardboard and cut using my exacto knife. The edges of the cardboard were inked. Then I just took scraps of ribbons and had fun crisscrossing the top.
