Description: My response to Tell Your Story - Sibling Credits: SSD Aint No Sunshine Kit by Tracy Reed Journaling: I grew up idolizing my kuya. The one who can read stories, fix my toys, draw me paper dolls, drive a sidecar bike, solve my math homework and chase bad kids around. He was my playmate & walking companion to & from school. I was broken hearted when he left for highschool. I endured 4 years with walking home without him. But he would cheer me up by saving his lunch money to buy me donuts, ice cream or chips & bring it me when he comes home. When I graduated gradeschool, Mamu wanted me to go to an exclusive school but I decided to go to his school instead so I can be with him. I?d even stay late on Fridays while he trains for ROTC. Our lives changed dramatically in 1993. He was diagnosed with a mental disorder. I felt robbed & cheated. I cried for days. Slowly the Kuya I knew became a distant memory. I was left to step up the plate. To stand almost immediately to think like a guy for me & Mamu. Everyday, I missed him. But I still love him to pieces. Now, it?s my turn to watch his back and return the neverending love he gave when we were younger. And on good days, we can talk like he was all fine. And once again, I feel like a kid sheltered by her childhood hero.

Description: This is my reply to Sugar Free Challenge #37 Journaling: Coffee and cigarettes were my worst habits. I used to smoke a pack a day of marlboro lights and consume 6-8 cups of coffee & endless amount of espresso or espresso mixed drinks. Both have taken its toll on me I started getting sick attributed to them. It's really sad I had to be sick before I took over these hard habbit to break. Description: Why did he abandon me? What did I do to deserve such treatment from him? If he had problems with Mom, why did I have to fall victim that got hurt? Why? I never knew who my father was, my mother told me to consider him dead. No amount of asking, begging or fighting would let her tell me. But what if I known him? Would he change his mind if he saw me born barely alive and formed? Would he hold my hand and whisper to me to hold on? As a kid, would he carry me on his shoulder as we walk in the park? Would he tickle me silly until my belly aches or ruffle my hair like my older brother did? Would I be a daddy's little girl? Would he try to scare boys away or ground me for staying late? Would he smile and choke a tear as he walk me to the altar on my wedding day? Would he swirl me gracefully as we dance the father-daughter dance? Would he? All these questions will never get answered. All it will leave is a sad empty space in my heart that longs for that big man to look up to. I will never see his image or hear his voice. If I had known my father, would he want to know me? But if I am given an hour to be with him or talk to him, I will not bother to ask all those questions. I will just beg him to stay. Wooden Spoon Love

Description: I love cooking with my wooden spoons. It doesn't scratch the bottom of pots & pans. It doesn't conduct heat, therefore not creating off temparatures or any chemical reactions with any food a metal spoon would. It's great for stirring sauces & stews. Credits: SSD - For Laura Kit Our Own Home Sweet Home well --- almost! 2005 - a year after we got engaged we went for vacation to orlando got enticed by the nice weather beautiful homes & gated communities we went house hunting and fell in love with this villa 5 bedrooms, 3 baths & inground pool. we were to come back to boston figure out our finances and make an offer. then hurricane dennis came then katrina and some others one after the other. We ended up re-thinking our decision and decided to get married first. i still dream of that villa in waterford once in a while.
