Description: JOURNALING: June 7, 2024 - a lovely day to enjoy theatre in the park. We saw a very unique version of Beauty and the Beast*. From the playbill: "A tale as old as time, retold with a magical new spin. Lucy Kirkwood's Beauty & the Beast is full of fairy tale romance, comedy, and enchantment. The wickedly charismatic Man in Pink presents his version of events, casting a spell over Beauty, her cursed Beast, and a single red rose. Add a magical Rabbit and a personal assistant who wants to sing and presto! *This is not the version told by a Certain Mouse." Cast - The Man in Pink - Samuel Partridge; Cecile, his assistant - Colleen Underwood; Beauty - Ogechi Mgbudem; Lettice, Beauty's sister - Winnona Maddrey; Father - Jake Jones; Beast - J T Walker; Rabbit, really like a stage hand - Lauren Ash. I liked the Man in Pink's comedic timing and was amazed at the athleticism of the Beast. Description: This page is for "Weekend Getaway #5" - 4 Corners. JOURNALING - I paid extra to get paper tickets for the 2024 summer season because my sister likes it "old school". The first offering was her favorite musical - "Man of La Mancha." The cast hard at work during rehearsals; it paid off because the production was wonderful! The venue is great also with excellent sight lines. Publicity shot featuring Ben Hoover as Don Quixote and Benjamin Smallwood as Sancho Panza. As soon as Hoover sang his first few notes, we were both "blown away" by his voice. All of the cast were excellent, esp. Aaron Turnbull as Governor/Inn Keeper; Carly Shepherd as Aldonza/Dulcinea; Smallwood and Hoover. The Venue, Newark OH Karon's T-Shirt was perfect. Description: JOURNALING - This comedy at the Ohio Theatre (4/14/24) was a delight. Anyone who has played the board game "Clue" will enjoy this live version featuring all the "usual suspects". In the lobby was a large board that was the perfect place for "selfies". Inside the theatre patrons were greeted by the image of "Boddy Manor, a mansion of epic proportions and terrifying secrets..." to set the scene. The entire cast was wonderful. We especially liked the physicality of Mr. Green, 2nd from the left.
