The journaling is about how difficult it's been to make choices for our family that don't line up to society "norms."
Sometimes it can be really hard to stand up for what you believe in, especially when it’s something that is so far off path from what most people believe in and do. Our family has been undergoing some pretty major changes. Deciding to homeschool was huge for us. We knew people would wonder what we were doing and why. Friends, family, even strangers, all have opinions that they want
to share with us. Not everyone is supportive, in fact, many aren’t. The questions and thecriticism can be really hard to bear. I spend a lot of time second guessing myself. It’s hard to push those voices aside and remember that I have to stand up for our beliefs. Our family’s values, morals, and priorities are all up to me to hold strong. I have to be patient and believe in what we’re doing. We don’t have to line up with the rest of the world. In fact, we’d rather not. Even when it’s hard.
