My layout for the SSD blog challenge - 7/16.....
Journaling reads:
All through the month of January – you had been going to classes in the morning with the rest of your class to get ready for the high school entrance exams you were going to take at the end of the month. The exams are used as a basis for admission into the various Catholic schools in our area and you were incredibly nervous about it all. Your teacher tried to explain that the morning sessions were only meant to help you with the stress and pressure of taking the actual test because you have the knowledge already in your head. But I am not entirely sure you heard him because you started getting pretty stressed out as the date of the test got nearer. We tried to reassure you as best as we could and sometimes when we couldn’t, we just sat and hugged you as you cried knowing that this was a big step in your life. On the date of the test, you were quiet and very nervous despite having all your good friends there with you. Some parents took photos and I kept noticing you were just off in your own world and felt so terrible. When it was time to go up the hill to take your test, you gave me a hug and then just started to cry. Unfortunately, you had to go so I quickly told you not to worry but it broke my heart to watch you climb the stairs with tears in your eyes. Sadly the emotions of the day got to Hayley as well and she cried as we walked slowly to the car. Having her big sister grow up was not going to be easy for her either. Four hours later we came back to pick you up and watched as all the girls came down the hill with big smiles on their faces relieved that it was all over. You were one of the last ones to come down and I have to admit I wasn’t sure what to say but was happy to see you were at least not crying anymore. When we got in the car, we finally asked you about the test and you smiled – “it was everything I already knew!” I smiled quietly knowing there was no need to say anything more – you were happy that it was all over and now the long wait would begin until March when we would find out if you were accepted to St. Lucy’s. Hopefully time will go by quickly as we wait……

Wow, this is really powerful journalling. I LOVE the perspective of the photo too. I'm dreading my girls getting this big.
