I knew from the moment I got pregnant that there was a possibility that I would have twins because the fertility treatment that we used increased your chances of multiples. That's why it was no surprise that at my 8 week ultrasound we saw 2 precious hearts beating away. We were scared at first, but as it sunk in I became excited at having 2 beautiful babies. But it just wasn't to be, because at 11 weeks I started bleeding. I sat at the emergency room for 5 hours praying that both of my babies were alive and well. Finally at 10 am the ultrasound technician told me that my beautiful baby b was no longer with us. I was crushed and devastated, the thought of having 2 babies was scary but I loved and wanted them both. baby a was thriving, and continued to thrive until he was delivered at 39 weeks via c section, a very healthy 8lb 6oz 55cm long. We called him Ashton Christopher. My son is finally here and we love him so very much. But looking at his beautiful face,and feeling my heart swell with love and pride at my son just makes me wonder.... what if there were 2?
