This year we started a new tradition. With Edward’s Grandmother getting older the women in our family decided to get together to make tamales. None of her daughters have mastered this recipe and so we learned from the best, Grandma Lucio. I joined in because I too wanted to learn. The only thing I mastered that day was spreading the masa on the corn husk. I did not have the patients to put the filling in. Maybe next time! We had such a wonderful time laughing at each other and gettin down right dirty. We all walked away with a little know how and plenty of tamales and memories.
